Barra 400E Gen 2 BB Rifle

Outstanding M4A1 replica - weight and balance is pretty much spot on. A charging handle, ejection port cover, and bolt add to the 400e's authenticity. About 1000 BBs through it so far without a single misfeed or jam with quite good accuracy. The most surprising part? Barra's specs claim 440fps; an Athlon Rangemaster Velocity Pro reads a very consistent velocity of 615.5fps, close to 50% better than Barra's specs.

Adding a "magazine empty" notification would be helpful. The 100 round plastic accessory magazine isn't nearly as authentic as the metal mag that ships with the gun and doesn’t look or feel all that durable - time will tell.

A bit expensive but the outstanding authenticity makes it worth the price.

Ambidextrous safety fell apart on day one, Barra did send parts to repair. After a few trips to the range, the power wire to the motor fell off. Fixed that myself after looking over trouble shooting guide. Fun to shoot but is very fussy on what BBs you use, even some high end brands jam. Runs great on 3s RC batteries with many shots on a charge . Feels and looks like a real M4 and fairly accurate for a smooth bore. With a similar cost of a low end AR I’d expect a little better dependability and not have to tinker it so much. But if you are mechanical and can keep it running, it’s truly a blast to use .

The Barra 400e is truly a thing to behold. It's legit! The gearbox is a little louder than I expected (videos online can't do the volume justice) and the output pressure is enough to release a nice, loud pop when firing but that all just adds to the immersion. Accuracy is great so far. The popup sights are great quality and work very well.

I would like to see the battery alarm unit come with these in the box, but buying one separately was no big deal. Also, a 2nd battery and mag would be nice-to-haves in the box.

If you are curious as to how this one compares to the real thing, I can answer to that. It's spot-on in every way - weight, feel, materials, etc. - picking the 400e up and handling it feels identical to handling a real AR. "Real" AR haha, that's funny to re-read because honestly, the 400e IS a real AR, it's just shooting a smaller caliber at a slower velocity. In my opinion, this is definitely not a toy. It could do some serious damage to a face in a home defense scenario, especially with a laser and flashlight attached. Highly recommend this one especially to those looking for the most realism factor possible. Great work, Barra!!!!

My son got me this as a present. I had been looking at a co2 one but so glad he got me this one. So much better than co2.

Very very well built, right out of the box the sights were dead on. I would suggest some type of red dot scope, it helps while on full auto.

This gun is awesome. I’ve not had this much fun with a gun since I was a kid, I am 62 years old now. It could use more power, but perfect for walking around the farm and shooting nuts out if trees and plinking around. Now to the reason for 4 stars…the rear site is useless. I cannot get it to adjust for wind age as the screw heads are plastic and when I tried the heads just ripped apart and became useless. I ordered another rear site made from metal like the rest of the gun is and now I have a robust little gun to play with. I thought the entire functioning or adjustable part of the gun would be metal since I ordered the “metal” version of the gun. Don’t get me wrong, I would buy this gun again every time, just know you need to change the sights to make it the perfect little plinking gun.

Awesome fun . Heavy duty feels like a real AR-15 best fun ever.
