Caldwell Pic Rail Adapter Plate is constructed from aluminum with a matte black finish for rifle platforms. This base style adapter utilizes a sling swivel mounting method to convert standard swivel studs into a Picatinny rail interface standard. Measuring 8.30" in length, 1.10" in height, and 4.60" in width, it weighs 0.20 lb and provides a stable rail surface for attaching bipods and shooting accessories. I love the design, and the attachment is sturdy, but my accessories don't fit, the pic rail doesn't seem to be standard size. I bought several of them specifically for a rather expensive bipod and it doesn't fit, but fits on other pic rails I have.
Bought this to utilize my bipod with it. First trip out the pin to attach to the swivel broke while carrying my rifle. Luckily caught it before it fell to the ground. You need to loosen the swivel stud to attach this adaptor. The pin is weak and can also slide out if it’s not tight. I would not reccomend.
Its a great accessory, but I wish it had 4 pic rail groves instead of 3 My bipod has 2 cross bolts so it won't fit this rail with both bolts installed. Had to mount it with 1 I don't care mush since I am going to replace my Howa 1500 hogue stock with MDT chassis. Just FYI MDT GRND-POD will not fit this adapter with both crossbolts, just 1
Great design for mounting bipod or fore grip device on rifle. Just like all other 1 star reviews. Mine has the same problem, the pin that is holding swivel stud fell out on a range trip and I could not find it anywhere.
I purchased this item for two purposes 1) bipod attachment 2) attached a light. I have just just tried attaching it to my rifle (a Sako). The website say “ By adjusting the tension on the front and rear T20 screws you can change the vertical angle of the Pic Rail Adapter to align with the barrel instead of the stock” This should be followed by a disclaimer….”Maybe has sufficient adjustment to align” I discover there is insufficient adjustment in the screws to allow for the rail to align with the barrel, it is out by a significant margin. I would advise that you (somehow) check the angle of the stock and the items adjustment capability BEFORE you buy. Of course if you just want it to attached a bipod then it is fine. Significant buyer regret….unimpressed Caldwell!

Need a sling mount to mount this product to. Didn't know I needed extra parts to mount the product.
Really love this. Turns the sling stud into a picatinny rail AND you get to keep a sling stud. I have one of these on all of my rifles. Note: On some synthetic stocks, you may need to shave down any over sized studs to fit. It's no bother at all.
Six months old. Took my gun out of the case today, and the swivel guide pin had slipped out; my sling was now disconnected at one end. Just imagine....I'm carrying the rifle with sling, the pin slides out, and the end of the barrel slams into a large rock.

Worked great on my Savage Axis 110 308 Bolt Rifle and took less then 5mins to install. It is very sturdy with no movement from front to back or side to side. Will work perfect for what i need without having to drill into my stock to add a Picatinny Rail on my rifle for mounting a light and/or Bipod.
