Cold Steel is proud to introduce our modern interpretation of the culturally significant Gunstock War Club. In the early sixteenth century, American Indians observed the potential of a rifle stock as a bludgeoning weapon, and they wasted no time in fashioning their own war clubs based upon its basic shape. Made of straight grain hard woods, they hit with remarkable force, especially when enhanced by the addition of a short point. Designed by custom Bladesmith Rich Mc Donald; Cold Steels version of this fascinating tool incorporates many of the features found on historical examples, including the ridged centerline, sharp point, and the classic "Fawn's Foot" handle, but instead of using traditional hardwoods, we chose to make our War Club from injection molded high impact polypropylene. This material is highly resistant to shock; making it particularly suitable for use in impact tools. As an added bonus, this material won't warp, rot, crack or splinter like wooden versions! For re-enactors, the War Club has been given a realistic wood grain texture, which can easily be painted to replicate the finish of historical models.

The Cold Steel Gunstock War Club is a solid offensive/defensive monster, with weapon surfaces on every side. It allows the ability to use a hooking defense against other weapons. I was a deputy and taught martial arts. These are nearly indestructible and fearsome weapons. We have two and store them in vehicles. You can even attach an over the shoulder strap and carry one when walking. Powerful, Fantastic.
This thing is awesome! I feel like i'm in the last of the mohicans...lol
As far as durability is concerned , this is totally indestructible other than with fire . The blade is small making it hard to damage unless something hard is struck with it . It's is rather small like a kids toy or a one handed weapon like the Indian war club . I would like to find one proportional to the size used in the movie " Last of the Mohicans" , or adult sized version. Still this is a formidable weapon none the less.

This is much better than expected. Firm & sturdy… good weight, if i have to complain about something it would only be the size of the blade. It’s very well balanced, swings great… and when thrown flys true to target.
Also heavier than I remember. The People of the First Nations really knew what they were doing when it came to weapon design. This club is beautifully balanced and very intimidating. Also a crusher.

Over a couple of years I have purchased 6 of these war clubs for all of my family members. They make great conversation pieces and work great chasing off the raccoons. Sample of use is shown in the movie "Last of the Mohicans ".
