SPARTAN (AUS10A)
Designed by celebrated custom knife maker Andrew Demko, our Spartan is one of our most popular folding knives. The Spartans super-sharp blade is made from Japanese AUS10A Steel, and was designed to echo the aesthetics and cutting performance of the world famous Kukri. Its distinctive Kopis-inspired handle is precision injection molded out of Griv-Ex with heat treated steel liners, and this, in addition to our famous Tri-Ad lock, makes for a knife that is incredibly safe and secure. The Spartan also features the patented Demko thumb plate, which can be used to open the knife like a conventional "one handed opener" or be snagged on the edge of a pocket during the draw stroke and opened at lightning speed!

I believe I have had this knife as my EDC for the last twelve years. I love it. If I have pants on then this Spartan is with me. It is well made and cut like nothing else. It came extremely sharp, and I have kept it that way. I use a 6000 grit belt sander. It is more as a power honer. I went to a restaurant where you can grill your own steak, or have their Grill Master grill it for you. I pulled out my Spartan to cut my steak to check it was medium-rare. I just touched the steak and it went right thru the meat. The Grill Master saw my cut and said he was also the butcher that prepared the steaks. He said he would never use a knife that sharp, because it was too dangerous to use for breaking down cattle. One slip could end his career. He also asked how I sharpened it to that sharp. 6000 grit belt is like a power razor strop. I have a barber’s leather strop, but the power belt is faster.
I have carried this knife daily since I first purchased it right after they were first released. I carried it to be my last resort while on patrol and it didn’t take long to become my every day carry. Even though I retired from law enforcement 5 years ago I still carry this knife daily. I definitely recommend purchasing one.

Best design for a folding, fighting knife, ever . Love the barong hook to keep it in your hand. That Kopis curve makes for a smooth deep cut. Wouldn't want to go against this knife.
Sharpest knife out of box I’ve ever bought. This knife is way better than I thought it would be. It’s also a lot bigger than it looked in the pictures.
This is awesome! It has some weight to it; not too much but just the right amount. The edge was super clean and super sharp (expected expectation fulfilled as usual by Cold Steel). I have shown this knife to guys at work they were impressed with it just as much as I am. This knife, to me, is in that sweet spot between a small folder and a medium to large fixed blade. Tri-Ad lock is solid. If they made one in S35VN or CPM3V, I would have no problem paying extra for another one if these.
I am blown away at this beast of a like it has a great balance and is built to last came nice and sharp,it's a beautiful blade I highly recommend it like all my cold steel knives.
