Description
The Crosman Prospect PCP Air Rifle is engineered to deliver an airgun with flexible and convenient features for a variety of shooting types across a range of different situations. Capable of lead pellet velocities up to 1000 FPS in .177 and 900 FPS in .22, this air rifle provides accuracy and power for target shooting, pest control, and small-game hunting.
This air rifle delivers accuracy because of the rifled barrel, in addition to quiet shots from the shrouded barrel which also has 1/2x20 muzzle threads for adding an external moderator to further lower the noise of a shot. Consistent performance is enabled by the regulator, and the two-stage trigger with a manual lever safety gives shooters a clean and crisp break that leads to accurate shots.
The Crosman Prospect provides tuning flexibility because it has a transfer port power wheel on the side of the receiver, as well as externally-adjustable hammer spring tension. This air rifle uses a synthetic all-weather stock for performance in any condition, and it has textured rubber inserts on the grip and forearm to provide a slip-free hold even in the presence of moisture.
To provide additional accuracy from each shot, this air rifle has a Picatinny optics rail, and the height-adjustable textured rubber cheekpiece helps achieve a consistent and repeatable cheek weld for ideal eye alignment.
To get a dependable airgun with adjustable features and the power and precision for effective pest control, small-game hunting, and target shooting, buy the Crosman Prospect PCP Air Rifle from Pyramyd AIR today.

8 of 8 Crosman Prospect Reviews
Personally, I like the looks of the rifle. I found it to be extremely accurate with good glass. 10 round group covered by a quarter between 30-35 yards with 18 grain JSB's. Works great on large grey tree rats.
Things I Would Have ChangedMake it a .25 caliber. Maybe a larger tube or small bottle. That's it. It's a great rifle. Ohhh! 1 thing, ADD SLING MOUNTS, like the description claims it has. There are none present. I almost returned it over this one thing, before I started shooting it. Little things can mean a lot to shooters with various health issues.
What Others Should KnowBuy it while it's on sale! This is a rifle, regardless of how you think it looks, that is super accurate and adjustable for power and comfort when shooting.
Unboxed my Prospect and gave it a very good going over. Everything looks great. Bore is filthy, but it cleaned up nicely. Installed a BR moderator, new WestHunter scope, loaded my 2 mags with JSB 18 grain pellets and sat down at my table to zero the scope and shoot some groups. Zeroed at 30 yards. 6 rounds in, bullseye! Both magazines, all touching. I got lucky, and a large grey tree rat tried to make an escape from where he was hiding in my pear tree. Click, wap! This rifle is super quiet with the BuckRail moderator! The Wap was pellet meeting squirrel head. Yes, the rifle is long, esp with the BR moderator. But the balance is great. Love the "Batman's rifle" look. Pistol grip fits excellent in my hand, and rifle is very comfortable to aim and fire. My chrony is busted, so no fps.to report. I love bullpup rifles, but I think I love this rifle more than my Akela .22.
Things I Would Have ChangedA free spare magazine wouldn't hurt at all. And where are the sling swivel studs, as stated in the add for this rifle? Mine don't have any. Kinda misleading advertising Pyramyd! That's it though. Great rifle so far(200 shots in).
What Others Should KnowFor the price, your not gonna get better, or anywhere close, for a regulated, powerful at distance PCP. For a beginner or an old hand, this rifle is the best deal out there I've seen.
Decent amount of power in .22 using 18 grain JTS and JSB pellets, also very accurate at 35ish yards(that's my target distance). Price is excellent with the 150.00 off, so get while you can.
Things I Would Have ChangedShip with a cleaner bore! These things are shipping looking like a sewer pipe! Also, the advertised sling mounts need to be added like the description describes. No place to mount a sling fore or aft! Last but not least, level out the comb off the buttstock some. Too large of a slant to be real comfortable peering through your scope!
What Others Should KnowIt is overall a very nice, capable rifle for both plinking, target shooting, or if you just want to bullseye wamp rats from your T-14. It will get it done. Clean your bore first though. They seem to be shipped nasty. Don't use a brush, or you will knock out the rubber gasket in your bore!
Budget friendly. Super consistent FPS across 40 shots on single tank fill starting 3600 ending 2000. Loves heavier pellets. JTS DC 18.1 are very accurate. This gun will shoot Crosman Premier Domed 14.3 but will have more then usual flyers. Very durable design. Looks naked in stock form but with a scope and bipod looks very nice. Uses the same magazine as the Crosman .22 Icon. I like hand grip. Some report its thin but for me it fits my hands great.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe cocking lever needs a handle, and its easy to not fully cock resulting in double-load. The stock cheek rest should come lower allowing useable upward adjustment. The factory shroud and baffles are not the same as Marauder/Armada design. The shroud is smaller diameter and the baffle is a single baffle similar to the NP2 baffle but a scaled down version. The gun isn't super loud and is a true Medium at best. A moderator is needed and shoots fine with one installed except the gun is already long so a 1/2-20 attached moderator adds to its length. Should come with sling mount points, but was able to add to screw in mounts and works great. Trigger is not too bad, doesn't adjust much.
What Others Should KnowThe adjustable port valve is sensitive and its range is 9pm-12pm. By adjusting between 10-11pm position it lowers FPS 40-50 and better stabilizes Crosman Premier Domed 14.3 pellets. Or go max power with heavier pellets. I'd like to see some after market accessories available for this gun. Its a sleeper and has lots of customization potential.
Very accurate for a budget pcp rifle. 4/5 shots were sub moa at 100 YARDS! Gun is very easy to shoulder/grip with the stock style. Some say it's ugly, but I like it. Feels good in the hands.
Things I Would Have ChangedWeight of gun, it's a little on the heavier side
First, I like the stock, and the pistol grip style buttstock. Second is the accuracy. Third, I like the power that the 177 caliber produce. I purchased the Prospect because it took me back to my airgun roots, Crosman.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing, I really like this PCP air rifle.
What Others Should KnowIt's on the heavy side, and that's due to the material the stock is made of. However, it's manageable.
Rifle is very well built, has a good balance. Ergonomics are very comfortable. Very quiet and super quiet with suppressor. Power is consistent with the regulator. Likes CPHP 14.3 grain very accurate
Things I Would Have ChangedThe side lever cocking is a little flimsy, could be better
What Others Should KnowMy rifle averaged 933 fps with 11.9 grain pellets

I ordered the 22 cal when Pyramyd dropped the price $229. I really like that it is regulated and has very consistent shots. With some pellets (JSB Heavy, RWS Superdome) I am getting Extreme Spread of only 4. Seems very solidly built. Accuracy is exceptional. It does not seem to be very pellet picky. Also, like that it has a threaded barrel for a moderator.
Things I Would Have ChangedI wish the gun was a little lighter. It is heavy to carry in the woods. I also wish that it had sling studs, because a sling is very helpful carrying such a heavy gun. I added my own studs and sling which make a huge difference in the woods. I also feel the cocking lever could be tightened up a little and refined.
What Others Should KnowThe trigger from the factory was heavy. I adjusted it lighter and feels pretty good. The smaller air cylinder on this gun is nice for a hand pump. Overall, I am very pleased with the Prospect for the money. My priority is accuracy and the Prospect delivers.
