Description
The Crosman Vapor Max Bolt-Action is a versatile, multi-pump pneumatic .177 caliber pellet rifle. It offers a 10 round rotary magazine and is a great all-around shooter. This rifle can be pumped between 1 and 10 times, with the first pump requiring 5.4 lbs of effort increasing to 27.4 lbs on the tenth pump. A 2-stage trigger, front fiber optic, and adjustable rear sight help put accurate rounds on target, while a 21.75” barrel with a 1:12 twist stabilizes pellets.
It weighs 4.6 lbs and has an overall length of 40.75 inches. This is a great rifle without the need for an outside power source, and it can launch pellets to speeds of up to 1,100 FPS. All you need are pellets and a target to shoot at.
The Crosman Vapor Max Bolt-Action Multi-Pump Pneumatic .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle is great for plinking, small game control, or as a survival rifle. Buy yours from Pyramyd AIR today.

10 of 11 Crosman Vapor Max Reviews
I love the magazine system. Loading is easy, the magazines have taken all the pellets I've tried (Crosman 7.4gr wadcutters, Norma Golden Trophy 8.4gr domed, Stoeger 7.48gr wadcutters, and Stoeger 11.57gr pointed), and feeding has been flawless after about 300 pellets. The trigger has smoothed out nicely and has a great, clean break. It's capable of very good accuracy at 12-15 yds thus far.
Things I Would Have ChangedI'd like to see it released in 22. A picatinny rail vs. the dovetail would be great. Sling mounts would be fantastic. Heavier hardware holding the stock in place is needed - it flexes far too much.
What Others Should KnowIt's a bit inconsistent, and my receiver and barrel were not level, so I had to shim my scope - otherwise I was running out of elevation adjustment. Overall though, I think it's a gem that needs a little work. Definitely recommended.
Pretty accurate out of the box and fairly easy pumping.
Things I Would Have ChangedTrigger a bit
What Others Should KnowTwice already the magazine jammed and I had to really fight to eventually pry it out. Not sure if it was a pellet problem or what’s causing it. I think I’ll end up buying a spare because I know at some point I’m going to have to ruin one getting it out.
Took out a fox with it. Very good for what it is.
good concept
Things I Would Have Changedbigger bolt , pic rail , stronger pump handle, feels like it will break after 5 pumps , mag needs ears to help pull it out when it misfeeds, which happens a lot , better trigger, mine is over 6 pounds , barrel crown looks horrible , single shot tray option , lower price , QC
What Others Should Knowit isn't figured out yet , buyer beware
2 pumps for 5 meter indoor. Clean break on trigger. Magazine is low in relation to sights. Excellent ergonomics. Good balance. Cycles flat nosed pellets without damaging them. Excellent accuracy with Daisy lead free pellets. At $110- it is a great deal.
Things I Would Have ChangedA way to tune the trigger for lighter pull whilst preserving the clean break.
What Others Should KnowI purchased this directly from Crossman because I had a coupon from them.
This is the grownup Daisy 880 I have dreamed about. It has the Crosman name, but it’s a Daisy inside and out. After 3-400 pellets its smoothed out. Power os surprising. I haven’t completed speed tests, but 900 fps with light lead is typical. Accuracy varies with pellet and velocity. RWS and HN pellets group 2 MOA. That means it can group inside the kill zone of a squirrel at 50 yards. Pumping is much easier than expected. The trigger is lousy, long, creepy and unpredictable, but useful enough with practice.
Things I Would Have ChangedFirst and foremost, Corporate should take this product seriously. It may just be an upgraded Daisy 880 but it has really great potential for a non-PCP option. Items to change: Better trigger. Better rear sight: partridge/aperture flip, click adjustable. Longer optics rail. Slimmer stock with more vertical pistol grip. Non-slip recoil plate.
What Others Should KnowPowerful, accurate, versatile.
Metal that replaces plastic of past models . Seems well made . At past 500 rounds no problems have surfaced . Anyone who has worked on the Daisy 880's will be right at home with this model . Out of the box the magazines are a little on the stiff side , but mine are working smooth now . I lubed all the pivot points first thing . Open sights were spot on . I mounted a Hawke Vantage 3x9x40mm AO with high rings . It has the power of a break barrel without the weight .
Things I Would Have ChangedMy biggest gripe would be shipping because FED-EX must thrown a heavier on top of it on the bolt side which dislocated the bolt , more padding in this area would help . I removed the receivers and repaired the bolt . Nothing broken . My only other Nic pick is the bolt handle could be larger . 22 caliber please .
What Others Should KnowSome are reporting that the front pivot screws are coming loose . Also that they are not getting the FPS stated on the box and its making strange noises .
I just received my first and used it quite a bit the last 2 days, I cleaned the barrel and lubed the pump. The magazine is a little bit different from other mag fed rifles but once you load a few iterations it is easy. Velocities are as advertised with lead verses alloy, my gun was zeroed in out of the box with no scope. I use these for small game in my backyard and am quite impressed thus far. I thought it would be loud but even at 10 pumps as a bit of a bark but not that which will alert your neighbors. It has a quality feel and the plastic is a good thickness from what I can tell, comfortable to hold and shoot, pumping is easy. The fiber optic front sight makes a big difference on accuracy as with the Daisy 901. I shot it at 20-30 yards with soup cans and was dead on, the exit was pronounced showing the energy of this rifle for a pneumatic. My hope is that Buckrail will produce a silencer system for this rifle. Overall I am very impressed.
Things I Would Have ChangedMetal mags.
Don't like nothing about it
Things I Would Have ChangedScrews all stripped out
What Others Should KnowWish I wouldn't have bought it

4-Pumps on Vapor Max = 10-pumps on Daisy 880. 10-pumps on Vapor Max..... slightly exceeds FPS & FPE of Dragon Fly Mk-2. MOST powerful multi-pump in history. NO (junk) scope included......which keeps cost at/below $100.... if you can catch it 'on sale'. 4-Pumps = 697-FPS 7.6gr domed 5-Pumps = 750-FPS 7.6gr domed 8-Pumps = 875-FPS 7.6gr domed 10-Pumps = 907-FPS 7.6gr domed 4-Pumps = 670-FPS 7.87gr domed JSB 5-Pumps = 728-FPS 7.87gr domed JSB 10-Pumps = 885-FPS 7.87gr domed JSB Pellets tested (thus far) = ALL domed & JSB: 7.87gr, 8.44gr 4.52mm, 8.44gr 4.53mm, 10.5gr Cyl, 13.43gr REDESIGN. Most accurate = JSB 7.87gr domed @3-Pumps & JSB 8.44gr 4.53mm domed @6-Pumps. Please understand the design engineering intent of the FAST rate-of-twist rifling.... and "why". Stabilizes short (light) pellets at lower velocities. Stabilizes medium-length (& medium weight) pellets at mid/high Vel. 1-Pump = 357-FPS with 7.87gr. THAT'S 'normal' power for all standard BB guns.....at only 1-pump!
Things I Would Have ChangedI cringe.....mounting STEEL rings on a 11mm plastic dovetail receiver! Framed aluminum picatinny integral rail NEEDED! (For now: only utilize a very light scope). ZERO errors..... ZERO malfunctions. ((( If all this data is useful: check the helpful box/icon ))).
What Others Should KnowCLEAN the bore/liner BEFORE you shoot your first pellet! The bore is filthy.....from manufacturing process. Never use petroleum chemicals .... as they will dissolve all O-rings/seals! Learn to load the mag's properly. Then they will NEVER jam! Full-size rifle! Pump arm is STEEL......and 3" longer than Daisy 880 & Winchester 1977XS. This additional 3" increased length .... is not 'additive' ..... rather: it is a 'multiplier'!...... making this platform EASY to pump!......to the point whereby: the first 4-pumps feels like zero compression! (Even Tyler P. would most-probably concur!). Push in magazine from bottom-center of mag. Works every time! Again: FAST rate-of-twist rifling. Use accordingly/advantageously! Know that: different pumps (different power-levels) equates to different velocities/RPM's which (in turn) ultimately equates to better/worse groups with SAME pellet type. POWERFUL rifle.....albeit: formidably quiet! Max FPE (thus far) 15-Ft. Lbs. 1400-rounds fired so far. FLAWLESS
