Description

The Diana Oktoberfest BB Rifle brings the fun of the fairground home to the whole family with an experience that replicates a carnival shooting gallery. With maximum velocities up to 400 FPS, it provides the necessary power for accurate shots for fun plinking and target shooting that will bring back memories for seasoned shooters--and make new memories for younger shooters.

This air rifle, also known as the Diana Oktoberfestgewehr, features a distinctive top cocking lever that starts on the side, rotates to the top, and then is pressed back to cock, and finally pushed back to the original position prior to shooting. Another rare feature is the magazine tube below the barrel, which holds 100 shots and has three slots near the front to allow the shooter to see the ammo and know when the need for a reload is approaching.

The Diana Oktoberfest BB Rifle offers a classic and attractive wood stock with an Oktoberfest Gewehr (German for "rifle") badge, as well as a rubber recoil pad for comfort and control and a manual safety for convenience. In order to help the shooter with aiming, this air rifle comes with a tapered post front sight and an adjustable rear sight that combine to result in additional accuracy, particularly at shorter distances.

To get an air rifle based on Diana's heritage of reliable airguns that provides the excitement of the amusement park without having to wait for a special occasion, buy the Diana Oktoberfest BB Rifle from Pyramyd AIR today.

I have multiples of these. Got a bunch for the family to shoot at birthday parties, and other family gatherings. Ordered this batch in October of 2025. When you get a nice one, the quality is superb. The manual says "Steel BB's ONLY". But here in the U.S. [.177] steel BB's are actually 4.4mm or smaller. Accuracy is acceptable for a gallery rifle, shooting at [Air Venturi Airgun Slynger Metal Silhouette Targets] within 10 yards. You would get the most out of this rifle ordering 4.4mm lead balls from JG Airguns here in the U.S. [RB44 4.4 Round Ball Lead balls] - since Pyramid does not stock any. You will avoid ricochets if you shoot at steel like I do. And lead BB's will not damage the action/rifling over time. You can also get 4.4mm lead balls from Germany. Diana makes such ammo branded as "Oktoberfest". H&N and SK also make it.

This is a gallery rifle. The sights are adequate, the trigger is adequate. You get a fun repeater that will make you smile - if you set your expectations for what it is. I would not change a thing as this rifle is amazingly good for $99 - which is what they are selling for October 2025.

Going back to "when you get a nice one". I received a few rifles in this batch that were backbored. Reminiscent of arsenals refurbished Mosin Nagant's where the last few inches of the barrels were drilled out to recess the crowns. Pyramid took care of it, no questions asked. They replaced all of them that had this issue.

Very solid. This gun is a must for anyone who likes to shoot BBs. The action is a blast and the accuracy is excellent for a BB gun. Getting 468fps and trigger pull around 3.65#.

The sights. I painted the front blade hi-vis and this helped immensely. The sights are dead on when I can see them.

Pour the BBs very slowly into the funnel ad it won't clog.

Good solid construction. Nice even trigger pull. Bluing on the barrel is very good. Stock finish is excellent. The funnel for filling the BB reservoir is a nice touch.

First session using Daisy Match BBs. Set up at 22' inside my garage to get on target. Shot three rounds, all 4" low and 2" to the left, about 1" grouping. I corrected the windage and started on the correction for the elevation. I backed out the set screw and adjusted the rear blade sight (thumb push). Recognizing the sight is plastic, I was very careful when resetting the set screw. I never felt any resistance when attempting to find the "bottom". The threads on the screw hole were completely stripped. I had not attempted to screw "in" until this time. At this price point, metal sight components should have been used, and would be a vast improvement.. I marked the position of the sight blade in relation to the base so I can periodically check to make certain the sight has not moved. Disappointing.

lance Apr 16, 2025

The sight can be replaced with a Williams Peep with a little filing of the sight here and there. I found the real problem the tendency of the sight to be lost in the cocking mechanism parts. The sight and cocking handle tend to blend together in a mass of blued metal.

Great build.heavy but good feel in shoulder.100 rounds before reloading

Hard to see the sights.fiber optic sights would be a game changer

It's a great shooting fun bb gun.i tried Daisy, crosman, umerex,Hornady and excile bbs all the same results 1" groups at 5 yards after that bbs are all over the place. I can hit galley ducks some times at 18 yards. It's not a sniper, but a great fun gun

Awesome...it is tremendous fun and I love it. Metal, Real Wood, "Bolt Action", large reservoir. It is in a different class when comparing bb guns. I read a lot of worrisome reviews prior to buying this about how normal 4.5mm BBs wouldn't work and the accuracy would be terrible and that I needed to buy oversees overpriced 4.4mm BBs. This was flat wrong. With Crosman Copperheads, this is dead on consistent within a half inch at 13 yards. After I finish off the Copperheads, I will try out the Daisy Match Grade.

Great character, great feel, and "A riesen Gaudi"

Do not use 0.177 Gamo Round Balls - they will jam. The reservoir tube is gravity fed so point upwards when cocking to prevent dry fire.

David Sep 23, 2023

Further Testing at 13 yards: 1) Dust Devils - bad idea, had to clean out a jam and didn't try again 2) JG Airguns 4.4mm lead balls - down to 2" group but many roll out of the barrel when pointing below horizon 3) Smart Shot - Excellent consistency without rolling out of barrel; sub 1.5" group - beautiful

David Aug 31, 2023

Correction to the above: that was a 2.5 inch group at 13 yards with the Crosman Copperheads - still awesome for a fun bb gun.

i bought this rifle - a red dot sight with a 11mm rail adaptor fits where the rear iron sight mounts making this rifle much more shootable. i use BUSNELL TR25 on mine. one must shoot .177 lead balls out of it. steel BBs even daisy match BBs just randomly spray the targets. HN smart shot works OK. German Lead 4.4mm balls are what it is specd for. even then it shoots 1 inch groups from a rest at 25ft

change the barrel so HN .177 smart shot shoots well from it or put in a .177 smoothbore barrel that shoots daisy precision BBS well.

dont shoot steel BBs out of it. Put on a RED Dot sight

Folks. The repeater Diana model 30 gallery gun has been around since 1972. This is simply a less expensive version made in China. All you need to do is get 4.4mm lead balls from JG Airguns here in the U.S. [RB44 4.4 Round Ball Lead balls]. Or order some Diana Oktoberfest branded 4.4mm lead balls from Germany. If you want a smooth bore repeater that will shoot about the same groups get an adult Daisy Red Ryder. Literally.

John Apr 25, 2025

2yr update on my review my rifle after cleaning and break in is good for 1 inch groups at 20ft w HN smart shot. The rear sight is removed and has a bushnell trs-25 w 11mm rail adaptor and works well. the hawke 11mm rail red dot that PA sells is the sight to buy for this rifle. cleaning and break in are key. the trigger has long creep but other wise is ok. be sure to adust it too. save your steel BBs for your 499B. beware of HN lead balls getting stuck in the magazine due thier variable size - been ther done that. i would like to try the german lead ball ammo in it someday. Oddly for me, the gun is more accurate offhand then from a rest. my guess is your hand dampens the recoil shock and the gun does not jump. a good add to ones collection.

I agree with putting a smooth bore .177 in this. I've been waiting for a bb gun like this and the fact we can't use regular sized bbs makes this a no go for me. It's a tease.

Things I like; that's simple - everything.

Be scopeable.

The fps that is listed is very conservative. Mine clocks at 485 low to 500 high fps. I only wish it was scopeable; it's that accurate for a BB gun. A bargain at twice the price.

I am very impressed with the accuracy. Outdoors, in the wind, I can step back from 20 yards to 35 yards and consistently hit a plastic bottle that is 2.5"x3.5"x7.5". And more often than not it ends up end-on. Not every shot at 35 yards, but by holding a hair high, I can hit it within a few shots. And this is offhand. And I'm no expert. And I'm not spreading lead around everywhere. It seems to have a quite flat arc out to around 100' but then starts falling off more and more rapidly.

I find it a little awkward lining up the sights, they seem too low along the barrel, so getting my eye down low enough means the rifle is high on my shoulder. But maybe there's something wrong with my form.

It's heavy, but that helps make it accurate. It's not the most comfortable thing to pick up, some of the corners of the stock alongside the barrel could be rounded instead of square. Once you have it up though it is comfortable to hold.

lance Dec 11, 2023

Finally, after a year, the 6k H&N Excite Smart Shot BBs arrived. I've begun the frustrating process of trying to get the piece to group predictably. But at least I now have the stock to do it with, and hopefully successfully? I'm shooting in my basement 10 M range at twice the gallery distance, so the groups, obviously open. I am hoping that there is a shooter in the rifle somewhere.

lance Mar 11, 2023

I modified a Williams low sight line peep to fit the dovetail ramp provided. I had to grind off part of the slide to clear the stock and then finished it smothly with my Dero slick belt knife shapener. The standard peep aperture worked despite the longer eye-to-aperture distance! It could use a slightly larger peep insert, to be quite honest. My low line sight does not have the Target Knobs, but given the purpose of the BB rifle that is not an issue - unlike my high powered springers. I am impatiently waiting for 6K SmartShot to arrive from my P/A back order. I have used up my supply of the SmartShot so I'm done for a while. Given the short supply of balls, I manged to get the gun shooting within the black on the 10 air RIFLE bulls. I'm satisfied with things so far.

The build quality seems very good by the Chinese manufacturer under Diana guidance. It is a solid and substantial piece with twice the magazine capacity and more power than the venerable Daisy Model 25. Unlike the latter classic BB rifle, the Oktoberfest is a rifled BB gun with a topside bolt action and a full width stock. Of course, it is multiple times the price.

The rear sight is "challenging" at the best and "horrible" at worst for a 75 year-old shooter with progressive lenses. I don't have a problem with the ramp and clamp for the elevation and windage adjustments, however. Like its commercial forebear, it is a gallery gun for a short and fixed range. Nevertheless, the rear notch is too small and disappears in the bolt hinge mechanism. The notch "blade" is just too small and it is coupled with a front blade that might better be a post?

Use lead shot for the sake of the rifling. That, currently, presents a problem as the H&N SmartShot seems to be absent from the supply chain for some reason. The actual German round balls that would be ordinarily used didn't come across the Atlantic to suppliers along with the rifle. That is okay, since one will need to so some serious cleaning of the barrel from the muzzle end to scrub out the post machining debris. The "breech" end is inaccessible.

Being a Diana, this should eventually prove to be a shooter and a short range piece that will provide shooting enjoyment within its scope. I am hoping that the SmartShot will arrive (I've got an order for 6K of them) so I can do some serious breaking in of the piece and see what it can really do.

lance Mar 01, 2023

Today, I took a low sight line Williams peep (w/o Target Knobs), and after a 90 minute trial-and-error session with the bench grinder and Dero slack belt knife shapener, turned it into an EFFECTIVE rear sight for the Oktoberfest! I used the peep apperture that originally came with the sight and, even given the eye-to-sight distance, it works perfectly. I have to wait for the 6K SmartShot to finally arrive so I have enough ammo to do some serious sighting-in of this adaptation, but am confident that I will have a real shooter once I get the thing finely tuned. For my 75-year-old eyes with progressive lenses, having a REAL SIGHT makes a huge difference as compared to the way-too-small rear notch as supplied by Diana. The only problem was the depth of the dovetail chassis and base on the left side of the rifle. Had to grind away maybe an 1/8" to clear the wood stock. Given the height required to clear the bolt handle cocking hinge structure, it wasn't critical to lose that.
