Diana Two-Sixty Breakbarrel Air Rifle

My Diana TwoFifty wood stock combo 22 cal from year 2020 WAS a true coil spring break barrel. Since THEN Diana has upgraded the TwoFifty to use a GAS Spring. I just received my TwoSixty from Pyramyd. While the web site suggested it would be a COIL springer the rifle I received DEFINITELY has a GAS Spring. I'm only MILDLY disappointed because I got the rifle at a discount (Bullseye Bucks and Coupon) AND the GAS Spring version shoots very well right out of the box with no need to go INSIDE to calm down a "twangy" coil spring. Trigger needed a little modification (as my TwoFifty did) to get my preferred 2-stage FEEL. It NOW has a light first stage pull to a firm second stage stop, then a short crisp 3.5lb snap to fire. I can get dime size 10 shot groups at 30' depending on the pellets used. This is pretty TYPICAL accuracy for me shooting budget ~$100 spring piston break barrels. If your groups are larger or scattered I'd FIRST check the stock screws.

Some significant barrel DROOP relative to the compression tube, but this is not uncommon on budget springers. I don't have a spare drooper scope mount right now so I'll be shooting the open sights for awhile. I do like the factory sights as they are "slim" and don't significantly block my view of the target. Polymer stock is SOLID and feels really good to me. Cocking force is STOUT from start to finish. That was a very clear sign to me that the rifle had a GAS Spring. Another sign of a GAS Spring was the very firm single thump shot cycle with NO coil spring vibrations. I did visually CONFIRM the rifle uses a GAS Spring when I removed the action from the stock to work on the trigger. Also, check/tighten the 3 stock screws FIRST when you receive the rifle. The rear screw on my rifle was NOT tight as received.

Spring piston air rifles are "fixed energy" engines where the start-energy is in the SPRING. About 30% of that spring energy gets to the PELLET. Heavy pellets are slower, lighter pellets are faster, but muzzle energy stays approximately the same. My particular TwoSixty is shooting just a bit over 16 fpe muzzle energy. If you are NEW to shooting springers you must THROW AWAY everything you know about shooting OTHER rifles and LEARN how to shoot springers with any accuracy. Is is NOT EASY and it takes practice/practice/practice, and then more practice. If you unwilling or unable to spend a significant amount of time and effort LEARNING how to shoot springers I suggest you STAY AWAY from this style of air rifle. You will only be frustrated by shotgun groups. Overall I'd rate my Diana TwoSixty at 4 stars. It does what I expected it to do AND I enjoy shooting it. An entry level (~$100) break barrel that works well for my needs but is not exceptional enough for 5 stars.

When this rifle stop working after 60 days , your out of luck , costumer service phone number provided by PA does not work .

The Diana 260 looks well made and feels substantial. The safety is convenient. The open sights were easy to see.

I don't know if this was a quality control problem or if it was a return item that had been dropped or otherwise abused. I did not mount the scope. I used the open sights and they are easy to see. I have only fired a few pellets through it, and despite positive reviews on its accuracy, this particular rifle is all over the place. I did not expect it to rival my older RWS or Beeman air rifles, but this item is not fun to shot. This would be a great value if it was more accurate/consistent. Your results may vary. Good luck.

Shoppers should know this review is more about Pyramyd Air than the Diana 260. It looked like the box had been opened and the open sights adjusted off center. There was a dried out, broken rubber band in the box. One piece of styrofoam packing was broken. There was some chaffing on the left side of the stock. After centering the sights and trying a few shots, the shots were all over. I think this particular rifle had problems and might've been a return item.

Less trigger pull, adjustment doesn’t do much. Bought for my wife to shoot, she is not strong enough to cock. Gun does not repeat, accuracy is poor at best.

. If you are looking for a low cost fun gun buy the Diana Chaser, this gun is frustrating and not fun.

This thing fits like it was made for me! Still breaking it in with the open sights, which are excellent. Not group shooting yet, but hung a sauce can up and no trouble hitting it with my bad eyesight. A little tough to pump, but getting better. This is the .177, ordered a 250 in .22 today. That shows I love the design, but REALLY wanted the wood stock.

To me, it's one of the best values out there, the other being the Beeman 10616 " Mantis " which I'm also breaking in, but A LOT more cocking effort.

The only reason it did not get 5 stars is because it is being compared to my HW 97.

The rifle is well engineered and is well built. The stock has pistol grip handle that makes it easy to shoulder and aim. It also has an adjustable cheek rest to aid in aiming the rifle. The TRUGLO sights are easy to use and adjust. The gun comes with a nice scope, but I don't intend to use it because I'm not going to shoot at anything over 50 feet. For me the TRUGLO sights are fine. This gun is backyard friendly once broken in.

Maybe equip it with an inert gas piston instead of a spring piston to make it quieter to shoot in the backyard. Accuracy could be better, but that is really a function of the shooter and type of pellet used.

I'm a multi-pump pneumatic fanatic and have been since I purchased my first Crosman 1322 in the summer of 1975. When we moved from SC to NC, I had to downsize my air gun collection, so I sold off all my spring and gas piston rifles and kept my multi-pump air guns. In our new home we have a rodent problem. Squirrels and rabbits wreak havoc in my wife's garden. I've kept them under control with my Crosman 362, but I ran into a situation where I needed a quick follow-up shot. Something that can't be done with a multi-pump air gun. I also need something with more power. I ran about 200 pellets through my Diana 260 before it settled down and quit dieseling when shot. I get about 16 fpe with most pellets I shoot and 1.5" c-t-c groups at 10 yds using a bench rest and 1.5" groups at 5 yds shooting off hand. (I get <1" groups with my Crosman 362). The Diana 260 shoots a variety of pellets well (Beeman, Crosman, Gamo, H&N, JSB, JTS and Predator) with pretty much the same results.

After a break in 500 pellets it's as smooth as the name Diana extremely accurate trigger feels good and breaks at 3lbs crosman premier 14.3gr have a average velocity of 803fps great Target and pest control rifle.

They should advertise gas ram not spring
