Description
The FX DRS Tactical is a PCP air rifle with familiar ergonomics and excellent functionality. It’s chambered in .177, .22, or .25 caliber and is designed to go the distance while keeping efficiency in mind. A newly designed plenum improves airflow to deliver a greater number of potent shots downrange. It shoots up to 180 shots per fill in .177, 122 shots in .22, and 70 shots in .25 Cal for more time on the firing line.
This full-featured air rifle is available in three configurations: Compact, Standard, and Sniper. Each has a different barrel length, from the 500mm Compact, the 600mm Standard, or the 700mm Sniper. The shorter, more maneuverable Compact shines for small game hunting and pest control, while the longer 700mm Sniper version is a better choice for longer-range shooting or those looking to shoot slugs. And if you're finding yourself somewhere in the middle, the 600mm option should fit your needs perfectly. Depending on the caliber, magazine capacity is 12, 14, or 16 rounds.
The beauty of the tactical platform is the ability to build it to suit your needs. Whether you prefer to run and gun with an integrated QD sling mount or set the full-length ARCA rail up on a tripod, this rifle fits the bill. It boasts a full-length Picatinny rail to mount your scope of choice, as well as the comfortably rubberized FX UG1 Grip.
And, because it's modeled heavily after the AR-15, it accepts an AR buffer tube, popular buttstock assemblies, and grips. A switch-style safety keeps it safe, while an adjustable two-stage trigger delivers repeatable accuracy and consistent breaks.
It has an over-barrel air tank to give the rifle a proper aesthetic without sacrificing performance in a platform that is light enough to get in and out of the field with ease. Air capacity is rated at 210cc, 260cc, or 310cc depending on the model. It's sure to help you hone your shooting skills or, as needed, control those pests.
Whatever you need your new air rifle to do, if you’re in the market, you can’t go wrong with the FX DRS Tactical PCP Air Rifle. Buy yours right now, from Pyramyd AIR.

3 of 3 FX Airguns DRS Tactical Reviews
I bought this gun about a month ago. It has been the most accurate air rifle I have so far. I have 2 RTIs and an FX Maverick. The RTIS are very close, but this one is slightly better. It is one of the least expensive FX PCP airguns you can buy. There are cheaper alternatives out there, but do not be fooled. They are not the same quality. In the PCP world, you get what you pay for. It isn't the cheapest, but not the most expensive. It punches way above is weight class as it is barely over $1100. Speaking of weight, it's not very heavy. This, in my opinion, makes it extremely easy to carry around is using it for hunting/ pest control.
Things I Would Have ChangedI would love a higher shot count, but understand that it is limited due to design. Also, the magazine capacity is not great. A few extra shots wouldn't hurt.
2 stage trigger is super from factory. Accuracy is also super for both pellets and slugs. Super smooth side lever of course
Things I Would Have ChangedManual is for classic not tactical and some things are hard to find like hammer spring adjustment screw. I think you have to remove pistol grip to find. Not sure. Does need a plenum air regulator gauge. My highest velosity came at 100 bar. So much for factory best setting. Europeans aren't familiar with AR-15 style rifles apparently. Safety is on the wrong side, you have to lift it up to fire with index finger on right hand instead on pushing down with thumb. I would like a single shot tray.
What Others Should KnowI love shooting this gun and the squirrels hate it.

Its lightness and maneuverability. For some of the other guns I own, holding aim on a target at shoulder height off a bench or bipod can be an adventure. You can actually hike and shoot on the run with this one. Works out of the box. Not all air guns do. Powerful and accurate: stacks pellets at 50 yds at about 900 fps.
Things I Would Have ChangedFX missed its mark making this model without a semi-auto fire mode. Adding one would increase the fun-to-shoot quotient exponentially. Also, start sending the DRS Tactical with a matching Owner's Manual. This one came with the synthetic stock's version of the manual, and not everything on the Tactical rifle is shown on the "Rifle Parts" map for the synthetic: there is an unidentified, knurled, vertical disc on the air gauge side of the Tactical. I am reluctant to turn it. The magazine is unnecessarily harder to manipulate than all the others I use: no place to grasp the rotary chamber to coil the spring.
What Others Should KnowOverall, this is a beautifully crafted (the build quality is apparent) and styled gun. Paired with an AR 15 tactical scope, this imitation looks like the real deal--which can be good or bad, depending on where you're seen with it.
