Gamo Wildcat Whisper

First gas ram I bought since I didn't want to go too crazy in case I didn't like it. Good value for the money. Would be better if it was a little less expensive and I didn't have another scope to throw away... But can be made pretty accurate. Getting quarter sized groups with H&N FTT .22s at 20 yards with only about 100 pellets through it.

It needs some TLC out of the box. Cylinder is full of oil so it diesels quite a bit. Stock screws were loose and the included scope is trash. Trigger is typical Gamo, so I might steal a CDT trigger from another one, or try a set-screw mod if I have to.

Overall, fun to plink with and certainly not bad. Don't expect an HW90 and you won't be disappointed. It's still settling in and I think it has potential. Budget another $75 for a decent "cheap" 4x32 scope and a single piece mounting rail. It does kick quite a bit.

Fast shipping, good quality for mid range air rifle. Rifle is quiet, powerful and accurate... after sight-in. Scope that came with the rifle is not high quality, but good for the price.

You get what you pay for and this rifle was good for the price range.

There’s nothing wrong with it

It’s EXTREMELY accurate I have seen many reviews of people who don’t like this rifle or even brand but gamo it great and this rifle really shows it . Best rifle for the money I swear it a 250$ one . I use Gamo tomahawk or Winchester round nose pellets with 1/2 inch 5 shot group at 30 yards that amazing. The scope really is not bad at all I love them for small game it’s a no fuss scope . Great for squrels , chick mucks , rabbits to about 45 yards with good shooting and the right ammo . I would say you could kill ground hogs and raccoons to about 30 yards with heavy pellets . When mounting scope MAKE sure the screws are tight the screws to the gun mount 30 pound and scope mount 18 WITH ! Locktite AWAWS

Easy to load. Seems fairly accurate. Quiet

The biggest thing I would change is the safety. It does automatically get put on safe when it is loaded. My last rifle did this and I preferred it.

Sighted in at 10ths - could cover shots with dime - will finish sighting in at 25 yds later this wk - barrel length makes easier to cock but still must lay on ground - I’m 81 and weak from surgeries- great rifle for the price

Lighter than my Beeman, easier to cock, scope is accurate. Easy to set it up and zero in. Rifle is well made and beautifully done.

Scope is very good no issue first time using a scope.

I've been using the .22 since last march of '24. Has consistent power and accuracy. Mine likes H&N pellets, I use the Terminator for pest control. The recoil is harsh, a scope stop is mandatory. It has killed 2 cheap optics. I recently put a Gamo Recoil Reducing Rail on it and it seems better. I am now using a Hawke red dot on it with good results. Lots of fun to shoot.

I think it should come with a scope stop, even better if it came with a scope stop and a Recoil Reducing Rail.

Tighten all screws regularly, use thread lock on the stock mount screws.

A nice handling .177 break-barrel, gas piston rifle. Holds a dime-size group at 50 ft (squirrel distance) once the proper pellet is found. It settled down after about 100 shots and the cocking became easier. Good value for the money and good for plinking and light pest control.

I'm not out to win the Olympics so there's not much I would change at this price and performance point.

If you look around at any air rifle review, you'll see that each gun is sensitive to the pellets used. I sighted in the Whisper using H+N hollow points at 50 ft (not yards) and will see what happens at 100 ft. My other UX .177 groups tightly with RWS wad cutters, and a 3rd rifle loves the JBS Match pellets. That's part of the fun, getting to know your equipment.

Light weight balance good a little overated on speed more like 1050 with lead pellets a little disappointed

Make sure that lead pellets work at speeds as well as allowy pellets do or. Boost pressure. Still like my blitz
