JTS Airacuda Max PCP Air Rifle

My .25 cal Jts airacuda max can stack pellets in the same hole at 50 yards with the jsb Exact king heavy 33.95 in .25 cal

At the time when I purchased the rifle it didn’t have a threaded shroud cap and Donny fl was selling shroud caps that were threaded and I was then able to run a moderator but some users in the past had reported issues with clipping but I have never experienced this problem with clipping

I am extremely late to giving my feedback on this rifle able 3 seasons late but I have not had any issues whatsoever with quality or performance and I have taken a lot of squirrels with this rifle and I look forward to till bringing how more

This is an update after a previous review. I bought this gun a few weeks ago and was excited as it is my first PCP air rifle ever. When I got it, I soon found out that the threads on the barrel had been sealed with some kind of permanent thread locker on the end cap so you couldn't put a silencer on it. I tried everything the Internet and pyramyd air told me to do: heating it up with a blow dryer, putting a leather glove over it to help avoid scratching it with a wrench, etc. Couldn't get it off. Then tried to send it in for them to remove it but they said I would have to return it as unwanted and pay shipping and a restocking fee because there was nothing wrong with it. Later they offered a full return. I got my wife's heat gun and heated it up real hot. The whole shroud cap unscrewed. Then I heated it up for like five minutes and was able to get it off the threads. Then the silencer I put on was crooked because the threads on the gun were machined too loose by JTS when manufactured.

The crooked silencer made it wildly inaccurate even with high quality ammo. However, I was able to get around the badly machined barrel threads by putting a plastic washer over the threads and then screwing the silencer on the gun, which aligned the silencer and brought back the accuracy. Now the gun is super quiet and accurate. I also bought a cheap spotting scope camera from Walmart and used a 40 mm inner diameter PVC pipe to fit onto my hawke scope to record video of my hunts. It works great. I bought a tap and die set and put some set screws in the pipe adapter and it's very secure now. This gun shoots VERY accurately at 25 yards with one hole groups using jsb exact 25.39 grain pellets. With the hammer spring tension reduced a bit it conserves air better and still puts out over 42 foot pounds at about 880 fps.

This gun took a lot of work to get the barrel threads taken off and then I had to add a washer over the threads to get the silencer aligned properly. I have not modified the gun at all, just had to apply a heat gun to the barrel thread cap to remove it. No internals have been changed at all per the instruction manual that can with the rifle. I would consider paying extra to get a rifle that lets you use ALL the features it is designed to offer you in the first place. The barrel comes very dirty out of the box so clean it very well before using.

Good trigger. Solid mags.

Apparently, this gun is built at the factory with the option for a suppressor, but due to clipping issues, the factory started permanently gluing the thread covers onto the end of the barrels to stop anyone from ever putting a silencer on the guns. I wish I had known this before buying it. I had ordered a silencer and it will be delivered today but when I tried to unscrew the guns thread cap it was impossible. I looked it up and found the reason behind the locked thread caps and was pretty disappointed. I feel like I was tricked and I saved up a lot of money to finally get myself into the PCP world and I'm not sure what to do. Maybe pyramyd air will help me out.

Don't buy this gun if you want to attach a silencer. They started permanently sealing the barrel thread covers over the threads.

Great gun!! Cool looking. Very accurate. Comes with 2 metal magazines. A bargain!!!

There is a gap between the end of the barrel and the barrel shroud. Tried pushing a patch thru with a jag Big mistake. The patch gets stuck in the space between the barrel & shroud Always pull through from the breech.

I would recommend this to anyone but particularly to first time PCP owners. It's my first amd halfway through my first range session I was in love A+ Jts.

Overall the rifle for this price point exceeds what is charged. It is very easy on the eyes and is packed with a bunch of outstanding quality. Easy sight in and shot a 1/2" group straight out of the box. Well package and fast delivery. Fantastic customer service as well. A+ from this shooter.

The Airacuda Max is an awesome rifle. I purchased the 30 caliber model and it by far did not disappoint. From the beautiful wood stock to the overall finish for the price point is incredible. I added a scope and believe me when I say one shot sight in is no joke. Shot a dime size size group at 25 yards (14 shoots- 2 mags) , I was quite impressed. If you are looking for a budget/backyard friendly rifle I highly recommend this pcp.

This rifle is so much fun to shoot, I strongly recommend buying a couple extra magazines and pellets. I find that the JBS Exact work nicely.

Very accurate. Trigger is great and smooth. The .30 isn't too loud at all. The weight of the gun is decent and balances well.

No sling studs which is kind of a pain. I've had this for two seasons now and this season it started leaking out of the barrel and breach from a dry fire caused by the crappy jamming magazine. I've contacted JTS and not heard anything back for over a month.

The gun is nice, but the magazines suck and JTS has poor customer service. For the price of it it's decent, but I'd rather pay a little more and have a high quality, longer lasting rifle.

Ergonomics and accuracy are excellent. Smoothness of cocking lever rivals PCPs at twice or more in price. Excellent adjustable trigger.

Stock quality is not great, cheeckpiece riser does not stay in place when raised without adding some sort of supports. Internal baffel system doesn't play well with external suppression and is very prone to causing clipping. A synthetic version of this stock with pic rail included in the design along with a access hole to hammer spring adjustment would be a excellent option.

The cocking action is smooth but be gentle with it! This is my second copy of this rifle and it seems that JTS has improved on the issue of gun fitment in the stock and the mags that came with this gun fit as they should unlike the older variant that I purchased a couple years ago ( My older magazines that came with first gun will not fit in new gun, too tight) Unfortunately this gun still is prone to clipping when you add a moderator, it seems JTS has done some redesign to the system on the newer models but unfortunately mine still clips any external moderator over 4 in. Im using a short 4in buck rail moderator now and it's doing fine, no clipping so far and quiet enough for backyard use. DO NOT RISK PUTTING YOUR EXPENSIVE MODERATOR ON THIS RIFLE YOU WILL PROBABLY REGRET IT. Despite this guns shortcomings it is a pleasure to shoot and offers consistent accuracy for me on about 30 shots out to 40-50 yards before I have to top it off.

The wood stock is nice. Smooth side lever. Very accurate.

I have had great luck with this gun. Others have come and gone since I bought this one, but it has become my go-to gun, if I absolutely want to be sure I am.going to take down a critter. Decent shot count, not overly loud without a moderator, but very quiet with a Donnyfl Sumo on board. Shoots out to my 100 yard maximum very well. I have the .25, and shoot JSB'S or JTS 25.39s through it.

Very smooth and accurate (with the right pellets) for awhile. Leaks start soon, as the garbage quality Chinese O rings begin to fail.

Put good seals in.

JTS eventually came up with a cheesy solution to the action binding/flex problem, but you have to contact them to get it.
