NEBO Mycro 500+ Rechargeable Headlamp Black

Great headlamp. But: it is VERY hard to turn off, having two switches that each have four settings. Also I often find my pocket very hot, as it has turned on in my pocket

I use headlamps for two purposes: walking on moonless nights, and inspection/repair. The MYCRO 500+ is great for both, since it has both an aimable spotlight, which is needed for walking at night, and a smooth wide beam, which is needed for inspection work. The rechargeable battery lasts long enough to walk for miles. The light is unfortunately rather thick for keeping in one's pocket, which I need in an inspection light. I also often find it turns on in my pocket. The buttons aren't well protected from accidental presses. I would prefer a headlight half as thick but longer to make up the volume, and with more secure buttons. The Nebo Slim Mini is the right shape, but is harder to set up as a headlight (I glued it to a strap).

It is very light and provides adequate lighting for moonless trails. The reason I give it so few stars is because there isn't a lock-out mode. The buttons are very responsive and will turn on the flashlight with the slightest touch, ie in your pack or pocket. Also, recharging is very specific. Don't try to recharge without using anything but a usb-a to usb-c cable. In this new world of interchangeability, I would expect any usb-c output would work, but not in this case.

The light itself seems good quality and it’s very bright when fully charged which is why it got a 2 instead of a 1. My main issue is not having a lock feature. Especially considering it’s rechargeable instead of battery. Multiple times I’ve had this in my jacket pocket or backpack and pulled it out when needed and it’s already dead because the light was accidentally turned on in the pocket. The location of the buttons and their ease of being triggered makes the design of this lamp terrible without a lock feature. It’s mostly useless to me because I can’t trust it to be charged when I need it and I can’t just pop in new batteries to fix the problem. They almost got it, but don’t waste your money until there is a lock feature.

Junk. Terrible battery life and stopped working at 6 months

Night great light but no lockout mode. Light will come on in my bag. Shine hours unnoticed. Get hot and lesson life of headlamp and potentially something worse. The adjustment needs more detent. Field worn and tested in real work.

This thing is junk. Will not stay charged but tend to maybe 15 minutes. Plastic piece that holds the light in position broke after only a couple of times of using it would not recommend to anyone.

Bought the light, used it for one job (30 min), put back in tool bag, left alone for a month. Went to test before I had a reason to use it again and it didn't power on. Left on charger over night, attempted to power on in the morning and it didnt work. Tried another charger on the way to work didn't work. Got to shooting range set it up at 100yrds and discovered it's purpose.

I bought this on 04/15/25 for a 4/16/25-4/18/25 family camping trip. I made sure that it was charged for the trip and the battery didn't even last one hour on the lowest setting for the first night. The light kept on dying on me and once I got back from the camping trip. I recharged it again, this time the light wouldn't even last a 2 minutes at the most. I would not recommend this headlamp, worst headlamp ever.
