The Avenger has a choked barrel and AV and Pyramyd Air do not recommend shooting slugs. Despite that these fit the magazines and performed well except for the excessive elevation that needed to be added. If you were only going to shoot slugs then you could easily adjust your scope and you might have a winner or set the slug as your baseline and hold under as opposed to over.
I found a fair amount of "flak" in this batch. Not as much as the .2175 (17.5 gr.) but more than the .249 (29.5 gr. ). I'm not sure how you would clean that up.
I purchased this slug specifically to try in my Avenger. I had tried Brimstone slugs (.2175) but they were too big. The irony is the .25 caliber Brimstone slugs fit the .25 caliber Avenger very well. I normally shoot 18+ gr pellets through the Avenger and sub .50 inch groups are the norm at 50 yards. Due to wind I kept my distance to 50 and 65 yards. I would expect that a 20.2 gr. slug would require a mil-dot added to the elevation. First shot was low but dead center with regards to windage. Second shot, same result. I added a second mil-dot, higher but still low. I added a third mil-dot and was finally spot on. That was way too much elevation added for a fifty yard shot when my baseline is 18.1 gr. pellet. Even accounting for additional weight and drag that still seemed unreasonable. I suspect that .216 might be a better fit. I didn't shoot 65 yards but my 50 yard group was .57 with lots of holdover.
