Primos Rare Breed Turkey Call, Natural

I have purchased two this year and both have cracked just sanding them with the provided sand paper.

I can sound like a turkey but I can’t keep it conditioned right. The striker keeps getting smooth on the end

I bought one and started to prep the glass and it immediately cracked. More cracks appreared spontaneously. I bought a second one and it, too, immediately cracked prepping the glass. Again, after I set it down, it popped two more times on its own. Primos calls are usually great and I have several I still use from the 90s. But this one has some inherent flaw. Either bad glass, or the glass is pressed into the wood pot too hard and is stressed so that it cracks easily. And it's not just me. Look at the reviews on the sites of other sellers and you will see this is a widespread issue with this call. Poorly made call not worthy of the Primos name.

Looks awesome but the glass cracked just sitting on the desk after bringing it in the house from the porch. Still sounds ok after conditioning but dang the glass is super thin and fragile and if you look at the reviews on retailers’ sites you’ll find this is an extremely common issue.

The glass in the call broke on the second stroke. I bought it 20 minutes ago. Is there warranty ?

This glass pot call is awesome. It can get loud and soft and sounds great. Wood pot is good quality and the striker is too.

Ordered it once showed up with the glass broken sent it back got a replacement within a week same problem again. So I decided to just scratch it and use so far not much of a problem.

I purchased one a few weeks ago. I conditioned the glass with the supplied sandpaper. Set the call down, then POP! Glass cracked all the way across in the direction of the sanding. Ended up biting the bullet and bought a second one. Literally took 3 light passes on the surface then POP! It immediately cracked in the direction of sanding. I set it down to compose an e-mail to Primos and heard another pop, and then another, as is cracked again half way across the glass, then again the rest of the way, along the direction of sanding. I always enjoyed Primos calls and have Primos pot calls going back to the 90s: Power Crystal, aluminum, glass and slate, along with several other brands, including some high dollar slates. The Rare Breed is the only one that ever cracked while conditioning. 2 for 2 for cracks in the glass on Rare Breed glass calls. Disappointing.

A great value for the money. Sounds good in the woods.
