This is one very attractive 1911 replica but looks does not make good performance. How sweet it is to get both! The velocity rating of 330 fps is honest. Early shots were as high as 348 fps and the velocity stayed over the rating for about 25 shots before dropping into a still pleasing 325 fps stretch until about shot 38 where it slowly began dropping. Good effective velocity lasted past 50 shots. Accuracy was dependent upon the ammo and this pistol varied from 2-1/2" groups at 7 yards to tight groups that cut out a solid hole a little over an inch across. The two BB selections that did that were the Daisy Precision ground plated shot and the former Avanti Precision ground shot. These two also shot more to the left than the other standard quality BB's I tested. The precision adjustments of the rear sight allowed me to zero in the best grouping ammo. So with the overall accuracy performance I have rated it 3 stars, but it has 5 star potential with the right ammo.
One minor thing. With the rear sight adjusted fully downward, this pistol consistently shot a little high at 7 yards. I would like to have it hit in the center of the bull at this range. At 10 yards the elevation is spot on. A little taller front sight would allow using some of the rear sight adjustment to provide a zero at either range.
The trigger function on this pistol shames all others! No trigger I have used was better than this. It is good to a fault - initial take up is very short and the pull required for let off is very light. The average pull weight of 5 pulls was 14.5 ounces! The short take up and light weight is going to release before you expect and it will take some time for you to learn how to adjust to it so it doesn't fire before you are ready. Before you load it or pierce the CO2, take some time to dry fire it until you learn the break point and know how to control it. Then always put the safety on after you have finished shooting a string of shots. I am a professional airgun repairman and fire thousands of shots each year. When alone, I will not always engage the safety. This pistol changed my attitude. I love its trigger, I also respect how easily it releases and put the safety on immediately when I have completed a string of shots. I know neglecting to do so may lead to a preventable mishap.
