My hand guard rattles, very disappointing

Bought this a month ago and so far I’m really glad I did. Very pricey for what it is but in comparison to other knives of this style I really like this. Other comparisons include the Buck 119 the cold steel SRK you know 6” blades with hollow grinds so compared to those this one out of box out cuts them both without modifying. The sheath is still up for thoughts as we’ll see how it holds up. Doesn’t appear or smell or feel like real leather but again it’s still new so we’ll see. May be more of a presentation knife over a user knife but I intend to use my stuff regardless of the cost ot was designed to cut. Not chop just slice and cut as a knife should. And at that it does very well. Holds an edge fairly well for its steel. Very easy to resharpen. The bluing is very beautiful and has held up so far to what I’ve put it through. May Mae a kydex sheath for it and this will probably be my new go to. The leather stacked handle needs extra care but I love the look so it’s worth it to me. Gonna give it a few more months of use and I may get the other model with rubber Kraton handle for using without worrying about the grip soaking too much water. But definitely feels awesome. The bolster is chamfered very comfortably so makes it very comfortable to hold and use. Though not a choil , you can carefully use the portion as one below the Ricasso to choke up and get closer to the edge. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase thankyou Sog for the first time purchase discount code which helped me pull the trigger. Wish I knew I woulda liked it I would have also purchased the larger version too along with the stainless coated version also. lol

Beautiful knife. Wish I’d had this when I was in the Army. I do believe it would take the abuse I would’ve put it through. I’m a collector now so it is one of my safe queens. Great product and worth the price. Good quality.

Ben Baker knew what he was doing when he designed this knife for MAC V SOG. I’ve been wanting one for about 15 yrs now. My Grandfather In Law was in CCC and told me stories. The weight and the feel lets you know that you are holding an anti personnel knife for sure. There is a space between the blade edge and hand guard. Ben said this was for you to place your index finger to remove the knife if it hung up on bone, sinew, or clothing. Look up the history on it. I’m proud to own a piece of history. It’s not a sterile original, but it’s mine!

I am a retired Special Forces soldier and a collector of weapons,especially weapons used by Special Forces. This is the knife that was issued to the MAC SOG guys in Vietnam. A must for any collector. Love it.

Bowie knive was a good purchase, nice heavy knive, well made. Very happy!

This is a great looking knife, feels just right in my hand, good balance. Now I need to decide whether to display it or use it.

I bought a folder the tomcat,I paid 300 bux,if it hadn't been stolen I'd still have it.Blued blade,leather washer grips,just great all around.there was the Trident,the other was great and made for UDTs,2 were left out of 50,its the Holy grails of modern knives.the SEAL pup,great new knife,you'll not be disappointed!!!

I bought this knife at an Army Surplus store about 5 years ago, I wasn't looking for a bowie blade but when I held it the balance was so good I had to buy it. I also like knives with natural material grips. The quality of the steel on this knife is unreal, it can open cans like they are butter. It is heavy enough to chop wood. The sheath is high quality as well. Probably one of the best survival/fighting/hunting knives ever made in terms of construction, design and materials.
