I haven’t hung this stand, but my first climber was a Summit, over 25 years ago. This new stand will be a game changer for sure. I bought an API climber last year and used it this spring for black bear. I liked it better than the Summit because of the teeth that bit into the tree. The original Summit I had didn’t seem to bite into the Cottonwood like the knife edge of the API. But the comfort level could t compare. Granted I was still using an API stand that was at least 20 years newer, so sure, the market has adjusted. Fast forward to now. I think the API will be reserved for guests, or those that can’t ensure the old rounded edges of the Summit bite good. I went with Summit due to the fact that they have been making climbers since the beginning of climbers. Great stand, light weight, nothing else compares.
