Description
The Umarex Avera CO2 AirPistol takes many of its design cues from 10-meter precision pistols but comes in at a very affordable price point. It is capable of reaching velocities up to 380 FPS for accurate and successful target practice and plinking.
This pellet pistol uses an 8-shot rotary magazine with a quick-change magazine system that makes it simple to detach the magazine by pressing the red button on either side of the frame, and it includes three total magazines in the package. It is powered by a single 12-gram CO2 cartridge housed in the grip frame, and the grip slides back to make changing the cartridge easier.
The Umarex Avera is capable of operating in double-action mode, meaning that the time it takes to empty the magazine is limited only by how fast a shooter can pull the trigger. The textured ergonomic grip provides a stable and slip-free hold even in the presence of moisture, and the manual button safety enables security.
For improved aiming without needing accessories, this CO2 pellet pistol comes with a fixed blade front sight and an adjustable rear notch sight, and it also has a Picatinny optics rail to accommodate a dot sight or other optic. In addition, it has a Picatinny accessory rail under the muzzle for adding a laser or flashlight to extend the functionality of the air pistol.
To get a lightweight and effective air gun for extended plinking sessions and accurate target practice, buy the Umarex Avera CO2 Air Pistol at Pyramyd AIR today.

9 of 9 Umarex Avera Reviews
the feel weight and it is alot of fun to shoot , it is agreat addition to my collection of air guns and i shall be having fun shooting indoors when it gets 40 below here lol
Things I Would Have Changednot a dang thing
What Others Should Knowall I can say you wont be disappointed
Price, good balance in hand.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe trigger pull is so hard it destroys any value this pellet pistol has. The trigger pull must be 10 pounds. The shooter cannot stay on target with a trigger pull this hard. Adjusting the sights proved to be impossible. Better be super gentle with them because turning the adjustment screw too far will destroy the sights. Most of this is the result of using plastic rather than metal for the sights. Because of the impossible trigger pull, coupled with poorly constructed sights, the accuracy suffers greatly.
What Others Should KnowI would say that until some improvements are made on this pistol one should avoid buying it. If the trigger pull is fixed by the factory, and the sights are made better, then the pistol would be an outstanding bargain. Until then, in my opinion, it is no bargain at all.
Ithe pistil is well made. The design is nice and it's fun to shoot. It's lif I could cock it using the hammer I know that would lessen the trigger pull. The trigger is consistent. It's more accurate than the 1377. The tool for the CO2 is easy I like the extra magazines.
Things I Would Have ChangedModify the mechanism so it's single and double action. Put a fiber optic sight on the front. The instructions are inadequate. Getting the magazine rotated into position so it's aligned properly is guess work. Once it's aligned it works fine.
What Others Should KnowIt's a good well made gun. I'm enjoying plinking.
After slicking up both sides of magazines and where they fit in gun. The double action trigger pull is not too bad. Gun gives more than average number of shots per CO2 cylinder.
Things I Would Have ChangedTrigger could be better if excess plastic from manufacturering was cleaned up. Would probably add to cost of gun. Worth savings to do instead of paying extra.
What Others Should KnowGun is fun and accurate after smoothing everything. Rear sight was loose on mine so easy to adjust before tightening
After smoothing magazines and gun up. Well pleased with accuracy and how many shots it gives on CO2's. For the price it is worth the money.
Things I Would Have ChangedWould be nice if magazines and gun had been cleaned up. The mold excess causes trigger to be horrible
What Others Should KnowWhen I first tried the trigger it was obnoxiously bad in every way. Removed the magazine and there was a huge difference in trigger pull. Looked at mag and inside of gun where mag fits. Both rough like shipped as molded without cleaning up. Smoothed up both, lubed with silicone oil and huge improvement. Did another mag and it works great. This is a double action trigger pull. Pulling trigger rotates magazine, cocks and fires the gun. You have to expect the trigger to be long and heavy on double action guns. Double action Revolvers are a good example. The design of mechanism makes a difference in pull weight. Taking this in consideration the gun is not bad once cleaned up without going into it. For the cost I'm well pleased.
The quality of build is top notch, like all my other Umarex airguns. You get extra mags, "O" rings, and CO2/handle keys.
Things I Would Have ChangedAbsolutely the WORST trigger action (heavy, gritty, and the worst I've ever experienced on any airgun/firearm). Come on Umarex, maybe charge a few extra bucks more and put something decent in....people would pay it as this is a potential entry into competitive pistol target shooting. The gun has the looks and feel, but the trigger totally prevents me from recommending it to anyone.
What Others Should KnowI have an EXTREMELY decked out Notos that I absolutely love, and appreciate the Umarex quality on it and another Umarex CO2 pistol I have. But this thing is quite honestly embarrassing. Because it's so cheap, it's not worth returning and taking the loss in restocking fee's. Hate writing bad reviews, but I really can't think of a good use/situation for the Avera that would make it worthwhile in owning.
Feels good in the hand. Extra clips, O-rings, and grip/Co2 keys.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe trigger is fairly long and jerky, not smooth and consistent, while not that hard of a pull your finger will feel it after putting a couple of C02's worth through it. Also remove the single action statement from the description, it is DAO.
What Others Should KnowA decent plinker, but forget target shooting, I think this gun has much more accuracy potential than the jerky DA trigger allows. I would give it 3.5 stars across the board if I could. While the description says the rear sight is adjustable, it is only adjustable for windage, and mine shot about 2.5 inches low at 30ft. the velocity is actually close to advertised, I was getting around 350fps with the Air Arms 7.3gr Falcon pellets. I prefer the Umarex Brodax over this, It's $10 less, can shoot both pellets and bb's, and you can shoot it both DA and SA. But if you like the looks better it's not a bad choice, given the price.
Light but solid Suprisingly accurate Up to 72 shots per cylinder!
Things I Would Have ChangedWas advertised as DA/SA but is DAO in reality
What Others Should KnowExcellent plinker, this thing likes the light economy pellets and sips co2. Was really disappointed about the lack of single action, but the DAO trigger is nowhere near as bad as others I own. Theres quite a bit of travel but it hits a definite predictable break point. Deserves a red dot and honestly if they had a grip with a stock attachment, they'd sell a million. The 3 mags, extra grip/co2 keys and extra o-rings all add up to a ridiculously fun and affordable pistol.

Although a value air pistol of all polymer construction, the pistol is very solid in hand. I appreciate the built in tool for Co2 install/removal and grip cover. I have put approximately 200 rounds of Crosman Premier Hollow Point, and the accuracy that this value pistol is very surprising. Best of all, Co2 goes a long way in the gun. I have been tallying how many shots and FPS I get per cartridge (in my 64*F basement), and at 100 shots I'm at 350 for first shot of 8 round magazine. Sessions before seeing the 8th shot around 301. My first shot of first mag was 384. I try to give a pause between shots of a few seconds given my basement temps, so I'm interested to see performance in warmer conditions.
Things I Would Have ChangedAs stated in several reviews, the trigger is very heavy. I have modified my copy to bring trigger pull to about 5lbs. give or take, which helps tremendously. If Umarex could make a manufacturing change of the trigger spring, that would really elevate this pistol
