Just completed my single season grand slam using Winchester Long Beard XR 3ā 12ga #6 shot fired from a Beretta A 400 and Jebās Headhunter .655 choke for all 4 birds. My Rio Gobbler was dead before he hit the ground at 70.9 yards measured with a laser range finder. Long Beard XR is the best non-TSS ammo available period. Jbake from Ohio
These are hands down the best turkey loads for the money on the market today. I know TSS loads are trendy, but I keep coming back to these season after season, and tom after tom. Theyāve consistently delivered clean, humane harvests time and time again. Winchester has done an outstanding job producing TSS-like patterns from a lead shell. Keep up the great work, Iāll be relying on these for many seasons to come.
A once great product no more? For the life of me I canāt wrap my head around how a company, that for years, has been producing arguably the BEST lead turkey load to ever hit market. Just to up and decides āHey you know what we should do? We should stop making this. They turkey hunters will be pumped.ā Bring back original XRs. Address the issues with the buffer and reintroduce the magnum LEAD load. 12 Gauge 3.5- 2 1/8 1050s more specifically. Winchester, get on forums, on Facebook pages etc. READ. Get in touch with your client base and be smart. Good lord what a miss.
Great Ammo! Drop dead kill on a tom in concho county ( west Texas ) I was shooting my A400 extreme 3.5 ā mag. Ranged him at 66 yards. Dropped like a sack of potatoes.

Awesome load, I wish they more of the #6 2ā or even 2oz rather than so many #5. It's hard to find #6 but everyone I know shoot #6. The #6 pattern just as good as tss in my 835 with a .685 high voltage choke and they hit like a hammer absolutely no flopping when they hit the ground
