These things are absolutely bussing. Vaporized a red house brick. And very accurate from a 26 inch Pardus 12 gauge.
Great home defense load, and I highly recommend! I've always been a Winchester fan, as my cousins husband was a boss at factory near Granite City!
This would be a very nasty round to be on the receiving end of. The discs and bb combo make this a formidable deterrent.
This ammunition is very expensive, but based on what I’ve seen it’s fantastic. I took one shell of the 12 ga Defender segmented slug with the rest of my ammo to the shooting range, along with a watermelon and other assorted targets. Holy crap: I loaded one of these shells into my 18.5” barrel Mossberg 500 and shot at the watermelon. The watermelon exploded into many pieces, large and small with that one shot. The recoil is probably what you’d expect from a regular 12 gauge Foster slug. Maybe a bit heavier Reliability wise, after several years of shooting various calibers, I’ve never had a single round of Winchester ammunition fail to go off. This was no exception Was this a ballistics gel test with layers of fabric to simulate clothing? No. But if you want the ultimate stopping power against soft-bodied targets, this shell is probably it.
This ammo would stop any bad guy drugged or not at close range.and the recoil is not as bad as expected.I have regular 00 buckshot for hunting.Winchester has always made great ammo and I buy a lot. A bad guys worse nightmare is Winchester 12 gauge defensive ammo.I hope Im never put in a situation to have to use it .

This round is so much fun to shoot and deadly accurate!
I was scared to use it because the slug felt like it was moving in the shell. i have 100s of other slugs and the shells are solid in the shell.
This is a very dangerous bullet. My boyfriend was cleaning out the gun safe and had one of these bullets in his hand, mind you the gun is no where around, when KAPOW!!! The bullet went off, traveled across the room, through the closet door and through the cloths hanging in the closet. Thank the lord no one was injured in this freak accident. There’s no reason for the loose bullet to have gone off. It was not dropped pinched or banged on anything and again was no where near the firearm. We no longer feel safe using this ammo for anything. We found the 3 slugs and 10 out of 12 pellets along with the tan piece that sets inside the cartridge. We can not find the black cartridge or 2 pellets. This could’ve been very deadly. We would like to know how this bullet spontaneously combusted. We’ve contacted Winchester in this regard.

If you’re counting on .410 revolver for home defense this round is a no brainer. Accurate at personal and home defense distance. The plated discs hit hard and the added BB’s are a nasty bit of work. No one would want to be on the other end of this.
