Description
Versatility abounds with the Air Venturi MicroStrike PCP Air Pistol. This compact, easy-to-shoot platform can be used as a pistol or carbine with a six-position foldable stock. It is more than capable of hunting small game and pests or spending hours on the range honing skills.
It comes in three popular calibers, .177, .22, or .25 with the ability to change barrels. Swapping to a different caliber barrel (sold separately) is quick and simple and takes less than five minutes. Changing velocity and power is easy thanks to the external regulator and hammer spring adjustments that allow you to dial in downrange performance. Energy in .177 caliber is 15 FPE, in .22 it is 27 FPE, and in .25 it is 30 FPE, depending on the projectile and adjustment settings. The Air Venturi MicroStrike PCP Air Rifle is capable, no matter the caliber. The .177 is great for target practice and hunting small game. The .22 and .25 calibers excel in target practice and pest control.
Filling the 80cc tank can be easily done with a pump, compressor, or tank. With a fill pressure of 4,351 PSI (300 BAR), you can expect up to 30 shots per fill (depending on your adjustments). The smooth cycling side lever allows for fast follow up shots from the included magazine.
This lightweight 4.5 lb air gun is loaded with useful features designed to push its effectiveness to the limit. It has a set of tall sights, a full-length Picatinny rail for an optic, and a 1/2X20 threaded barrel to install a muzzle device of your choice.

10 of 13 Air Venturi MicroStrike Reviews
Quality Construction, Compact Size, Versatility, Full Picatinny Rail, Easy Access to Hammer Spring
Things I Would Have ChangedAnalog Gauges, Different Probe or Fill Position
What Others Should KnowPurchased this originally as a Secondary Weapon, It's now my go-to Rat, Target & Vermin getter. Once again the Wonderful Crew at Pyramid Air were Prompt, Courteous & Knowledgeable!
.25 caliber paired with a UTG Bugbuster scope: The overall form factor is clean with a minimum of unnecessary bits and pieces. The build quality and finish will make you forget you only paid $400 dollars. Accurate for a 10" barrel. Love the included o-ring kit! I would buy again.
Things I Would Have Changed...But it is a $400 gun and there are some questionable design choices when you look a little deeper. Example: the end cap that retains the hammer spring and mounts the cocking lever is located by two tiny dowel pins and the top and two very tiny (M2?) screws at the lower edge. This hasn't been a problem yet, but the stock also mounts to the cap and I can see being able to lever the end cap off pretty easily with careless handling. The barrel is located by two dowel pins and retained by two set screws and I've noticed that the alignment of the barrel can be changed slightly by the order in which you tighten them and how much you tighten them. As far as I can tell so far it stays put after tightening but I'd feel more confident with more robust locating features that pull the barrel against the receiver. The safety button is easy to inadvertently hit and set to safe when re-cocking. When servicing be wary of sharp edges on o-ring grooves and ports. Use Locktite when reassembling.
What Others Should KnowThe gun cycled flawlessly at first but after a 100 shots or so the hammer would not stay back when cocking. I disassembled it an found a tiny burr on the sintered steel sear limiting its travel. A touch with a very fine file and all is well so far. The position of the stock means you will need high scope mount rings to be able to sight easily. The dovetail clamp attaching the stock does not fit the dovetail on the end cap. A gap is left that allows the stock to shift side to side. Also, the locking pin and hinge have pretty loose tolerances making the stock feel less than secure. I addressed both of these by adding thin neoprene rubber shims in the gaps. With what I consider middle of the road tuning (2500 psi on the regulator and middle of hammer spring force adjustment) I'm only getting 16-18 shots per fill before it's off the regulator. Of course It is a very compact reservoir and that's the trade off. Luckily it shoots well down to about 2200 psi.
I love the Micro strike adjustability. This little platform really gives your options. It's light weight and easy to carry on a long hike.
Things I Would Have ChangedNeeds a hand guard and luckily Bravo3d makes one that is simple to install and has pica tinny and Mlok slots. www.bravo3d.com
It's very accurate and light and shoots well. I got mine in .177 and I get same hole accuracy with cheap 7.9g crossman premier hollows at about 1400 on the reg and 1/2 turn in on the hammer. Its a very fun gun to shoot and I get plenty of shots per fill to not be annoying.
Things I Would Have ChangedEvery screw on the outside of the gun was loose. The third shot after i took it out of the box the screw that hold the stocks folding release button fell out and landed on my foot if it didnt hit my foot i wouldve never known where it fell out. The grip was wobbly, the screws in the plug to access the grip screw was loose. The front handguard/barrel shroud was loose i couldnt touch it or id get a massive poi shift. Even the front of the threaded barrel where it screws into the shroud and holds the barrel in place unscrewed when i tried to take the thread protector off. All i can figure is someone went to put this together and got distracted and never went back over and tightened everything. The extra wide slots on the pic rail for the iron sights are annoying because it limits where you can mount stuff. I would also change the stocks mount it rocks on the pic rail connector and at the buffer tube. Only one of these would be no issue but put these together and its a bit much.
What Others Should KnowIts a very fun rifle but the stock might annoy you like it does me. Double check your screws before you shoot it.
Light weight, decent trigger, adjustability.
Things I Would Have ChangedStock is a bit loose. I'll probably shim it to reduce the play.
What Others Should KnowI got mine in .177 and really enjoy shooting this air gun. I put a mid-price green dot reflex sight on it, and it is awesome. I bought this for short range pest control (HOSP, voles) as I have larger caliber for other shooting. I might have got lucky, but mine loves 10 grain Zan slugs. At 15 yards it shoots one-hole groups at 15 ft/lbs. Can't wait until the other caliber kits become available.
All of it. Great Gun!
Things I Would Have ChangedMore Picatinny Rails to have more options to mount products.
Folding handle , Light weight, its accurate
Things I Would Have ChangedIts a air hog , I only get 15-18 shots on a full fill, I also turned it down to shoot 680FPS and it makes no difference in shot count,, I have pistols with smaller air chamber that get two to three times the shot count of the Micro, SOMETHING IS WRONG
What Others Should KnowI hope its a easy fix on this gun, Maybe the regulator is bad ,,
Build quality, accuracy, comes with O-Ring replacement kit
Things I Would Have ChangedFill; probe
What Others Should KnowMy .177 MicroStrike is a great shooter. It excels with JSB Hades, which is good enough. However, it also shoots Zan 10gr slugs pretty well at 10 yards which is what I bought it for. I have .22 and .25 cal air guns for longer ranges.
I got my MicroStrike in .25 caliber. Out of the box, the regulator came set at ~2100 psi. I'm getting 2 mags of very powerful shots per fill, down to ~2300 psi after the 16th shot from a 300 bar fill. I'm shooting the 34 grain FX domes. They hit the 6" x 6" 1/8" thick mild steel targets I like to shoot at like a freight train! It's been too cold to setup a table for chrony and accuracy testing. I'm likely getting around 30-34 FPE like Jim Chapman got in his recent hunting video on YouTube using heavy 34 grain pellets. I know this from loads of experience... For accuracy, all I can say to date is I easily hit the aforementioned steel targets out to 32 yards off-hand. The MicroStrike is very well built! No plastic except for the grip. I changed the grip out with a rubberized Hogue grip. It's solid aluminum and feels good in the hand. I shoot mine as a pistol... It's a little heavy, but quite manageable. The trigger is pretty good.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe fill probe fits tightly, and goes in further than I expected. A customer support ticket with Air Venturi straightened out that problem for me... (I was a little embarrassed as I've been shooting PCP's since the 1990's... lol)
What Others Should KnowThe MicroStrike is great value for the asking price. The power it can put out is more than enough for raccoon sized game at a reasonable distance of 40 yards or so for the hunter. Watch Jim Chapman's recent hunting video...

Great quality for a 399 gun Perfect weight not too heavy not too lite
Things I Would Have ChangedHammer springs is too heavy Needs a lighter hammer spring for tuning for less than maximum power
What Others Should KnowLove this gun. I think people are not reading the description completely. Yes it can get 27 foot pounds in 22. And yes it could get 27 shots but that is tuned with 15.9 grain pellets going 630 as it says in the description I purchased this 22 caliber for planking purposes I have an fx impact m4 that I can use for power. So I turn this to shoot three magazines full that's 30 shots. My tune is 1,600 on the reg hammer spring all the way out (like I said this needs a lighter hammer spring) Shooting 14.3 crosman premieres I am getting $760 ft per second which is 18.3 ft lb and like I said 30 shots. If I had more hammer spring I do not gain any more velocity 760 fps average 9 spread 3.5 sd I think it can be more efficient with a lighter hammer spring 1200 on the reg hammer spring all the way out I can get over 45 shots at 650 feet per second
