The Athlon Optics Helos BTR Gen2 2-12x42 Rifle Scope is designed to provide optimum performance for both short-range use and long-range hunting and target shooting. It utilizes a 42mm objective lens for sharp views and a 30mm aircraft-grade aluminum one piece tube that is heat treated for added reliability.
This scope uses advanced fully-multicoated lenses with XPL protective coating to guard against the effects of oil and dirt and ensure a clear sight picture even in adverse conditions. In addition, the rifle scope is waterproof, shockproof, and argon purged for fogproofing that is better than lesser scopes, providing dependable operation despite poor weather.
The Athlon Optics Helos BTR Gen2 2-12x42 features exposed locking turrets that resist accidental movement when set, as well as a precision zero stop on the elevation turret. The windage turret adjusts in a range of 25 MIL, and the elevation turret adjusts in a range of 32 MIL, both with 10 MIL adjustment per revolution and 0.1 MIL increments per click.
The AHMR2 FFP (first focal plane) MIL reticle offers etched glass as well as a central dot surrounded by a partial circle, hash marks out to the sides, solid lines on the outer portions of the left, right, and bottom, and a Christmas tree set of holdover dots on the bottom portion. Variable brightness illumination can be activated for the central portion and the holdover portion.

This has all most all bell and whistle you will want/need. Clear edge to edge view. Great eye relief, yes but the exit pupil is the real star. It is EASY to get behind the scope at 12x. The mil markings are correct as well. I put it on a 9in 300blk and zeroed 125gr at 50yrd, and then shot 200gr subsonic at same distance. Came in from what I was able to see on the scope at 1.5mil low. I adjusted my holdover and was able to get bullseye at 50 w/o issue. I decided to test the math that the scope was giving me so I took the target out to 100yrd and held 3mil low, and BULLSEYE. Now to set the zero stop, and be able to just dial down 3mil to be able to make that shot w/o holdover. Love this scope. Just buy it.
The glass clarity is amazing edge to edge. Used it in the TTG and it performed very well.
Glass quality is good, positive adjustments for dialing. Reticle has just enough markings for holds and wind but not overcrowded.
This optic came in at a fantastic price point. Despite that, the glasses is clear and fantastic, the eye box is easy to get into, and the radical is fantastic.
Compact but giving up little to no concessions of its larger counterparts. Illumination is bright and reticle is easy to read. Eyebox is generous and parallax is accurate to the dial.
Super clear glass, scope seems to be ruggedly designed, great price!
I have 3 different Athlon scopes now. I love them all. Very clear and affordable. I will definitely buy more Athlon scopes.
Now I know why this item is always sold out, I bought for a .243 (my oldest daughter's rifle) and ill be buying another for my youngest daughter's rifle when she gets to that age. the 2-12 is perfect for the hunting application we are using it in and locking turrets are great for fidgety kids not to mess with the zero. I may even buy one for my .22 for some .22 comp shooting.
Excellent scope that performs well above its cost. Positive clicks and windage and elevation. Overall very nice piece of kit.
