GURKHA KUKRI PLUS (CPM 3V)
The Kukri blade, with its markedly downward curved blade, has long been identified with the Gurkha Warriors of Nepal, the ferocious mercenaries who have wielded this blade for over 150 years in the service of the British Empire. The Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri was inspired by Cold Steel President, Lynn C. Thompsons close association with Dr. Maung Gyi, chief instructor of the American Bando Association, and a renowned martial artist with wide-ranging knowledge and skills. Under Dr. Gyis tutelage, Lynn gained insight into the full potential of the Kukri and learned it was not just a chopping weapon but a piercing, slashing, and smashing weapon as well. Smashing techniques allow the Kukri to function as a hammer or mallet or to deliver non-lethal blows in a self-defense role. A concentrated blow with the back of the blade can break bones or be lethal if directed at the head. With Dr. Gyis input, Thompson designed a longer, narrower point for the Gurkha Kukri with more distal tapering to the spine. This resulted in a thinner, sharper point which can be deeply driven into thick, tough targets with minimal effort. Finally, a masterfully designed Kray-Ex handle was added to maximize the blades fierce potential. Perfectly contoured and deeply checkered, it offers a superb non-slip grip and cushions the hand from the shock of the hardest blow. The Gurkha Kukri Plus CPM-3V tool steel blade will out-chop any factory or handmade knives; including swords twice its size, even expensive, hand-forged Japanese Katanas. Its the heaviest Kukri on the market. The blade is almost an inch wider near the tip than at the handle, shifting the knifes balance point forward to allow a substantial blow to be struck with minimal effort, using inertia alone to complete the cut. Each Gurkha Kukri is supplied with a Secure-Ex sheath to protect the blade and allow you to wear it safely and securely on your side always ready to defend you and your loved ones.

Excellent for forcible entry, carry it on duty always
Very beautiful knife. Well balanced with a good grip and strong spine. I think this knife will serve me well for the purpose. I bought it for. Looking forward to getting some more cold steel knives someday soon.
Such a well balanced and scary sharp beast of a knife. I did a review and feel it is the best production kukri on the planet.
I haven't tested it, used it, or tried it out in any way yet. But I can state with certainty that it is very sharp and the broad side of the blade is remarkably thick and would certainly do some damage if used as a club or blunt instrument. Feels good in the hand, not as heavy as I was expecting (hoping??), but still quite hefty. I'm happy with the purchase. I'm not sure it was worth the very high price, but I got it for less due to getting a discount with opening a PayPal credit card, cash back, etc.
This thing is special I just received mine today and I’m overjoyed with it arrived razor sharp out the box shaves hair with ease fit and finish is brilliant worth every penny I’ve wanted it all year and finally went a head and bought one so glad i did you’ll not find a better nor more beautiful Kukri anywhere …

I bought one of the Gurkha Kukri’s in San Mai steel over 10 yrs ago. I had some finger prints on it so I was rubbing the blade on my pants to wipe finger prints off. I started to see debris on the blade and was confused as to what it was. So on further inspection it turned out the blade was shaving material off my pants ! It has the convex profile blade. This thing is absolutely frightening on how heavy and sharp this blade is in the Gurkha Kukri design. I don’t even see it offerd in San Mai anymore but I am stoked to own it. It has the same rubber grip and sheath as the model. It is by far the most leathal edged weapon I have ever seen. I do not think it’s a chopper as CPM 3V is but for sharpness it’s a absolute BEAST.

The kukri is almost perfect, well done except the edge.. the knife is great but the actual edge is done poorly.. it’s not really sharp. The blade seems to be ground very nicely but the cutting edge is all over the place and not consistent. Not sharp like it could be.
