Magpuls DAKA GRID Organizer is a fully customizable drop-in organizational solution designed to secure and protect your most sensitive equipment when stored or transported in a hard case. Individual Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) end panels and center panels nest securely together to create a storage solution that maximizes protection and increases versatility. Organizational DAKA Blocks are easily pressed into the GRID Base in your preferred configuration and can be quickly removed and reinstalled to fit almost any item. Magpuls DAKA GRID Organizer is a simple, drop-in storage system that allows for endless customization. The EPP GRID base was designed to fit perfectly in between each Pelican case and comes with a set of GRID Blocks that can be organized to brace and secure rifles, clips, optics, accessories, and other gear. The lightweight EPP blocks provide advanced protection and eliminate shifting of gear during transport. The overall result is better impact resistance and stronger protection for your gear than you'll get from current foam options. Offering numerous advantages over traditional foam or expensive laser-cut inserts, the DAKA GRID Organizer provides intuitive, modular organization at your fingertips. The system can be completely reconfigured without tools or additional cutting. When going to the range having a modular system to store your gear is a must. I don't always take the same guns to the range and being able to change the setup without plucking foam is great!
Perfect fit for my Plano All Weather 42”. Protects my firearm far better than the foam option and you can customize it to fit a variety of firearms and gear.
This is not a direct drop in insert. I had to do some trimming on the sides of all the panels. I was disappointed that I had to do that. The system is neat how it holds your stuff securely.
This is my third DAKA Grid gun case insert. It took my Plano AW2 to the next level in rifle securement. I will put DAKA inserts in everyone of my rifle cases.
First I’m a fan of Magpul, and enjoy many of their products. That is why I’m partially torn on this review. My cut foam liner was coming apart so I was excited to see they made an insert for my Plano. While it absolutely had the expected Magpul quality, it doesn’t work with my gun. Why? Because I have a Magpul bipod on it! The bipod is too wide and the case won’t close. I removed the foam they give you to put underneath, still doesn’t work. When I get some time I’ll try some surgery, but should I have to? I’ve not seen many AK style guns without bipods (Sig snakebite in my case, or not in my case I should say). I also bought the V-block addition, which doesn’t work, because the barrel sits too high… because of the bipod. I also like to keep my magazines in the case, but only my 10’s really fit, because you can’t put the larger ones upright, you need to lay them flat and there’s not much room left. ANYWAY it is the usual quality I expect from Magpul. Some surgery may work, but it wasn’t expected.
I had to modify this to work with my older Plano gun case. Once I figured out how to get this to work I am pretty fond of it. The simplicity of adjusting the grids and ability to change the set up is worth it. By itself the pieces seem like fancy styrofoam but it works.
Love the functionality and how secure my rifle fits in the case now.
