SIG Sauer P229 Blowback CO2 Air Pistol

Reliable, never jammed. Easy to load magazine that accepts pelets AND BBs, but I only shoot 6.25gn Terminator Pellets. Rifled barrel, so why shoot BBs? (I guess because BBs are cheaper?) Foolproof cam-system CO2 cartridge loading. COMPLETELY metal, not a polymer frame. MOS, Optic Ready, I've got a new one coming. Lower METAL PICATINNY RAIL AND I PUT A compact Combo Flashlight and Green Laser there. Excellent tech support from Sig Sauer in NH. Full Blowback. Less than 2" group with 7.25gn pellets (from a rest with no wind) at ten yards. IMHO perfect full replica of firearm version of P229. Trigger is quite good, Double Action 1st pull about 6 pounds, subsequent shots and Single Action about 4 pounds. IMHO that accounts for better accuracy. Excellent build quality.

One can tear down but I don't like having to remove a pin to do it.

For 1st shot I use the CO2s that have airgun oil IN them & I always put Super Lube, silicone GREASE on the tip of every CO2 before loading it. Ever 5 or so changes of CO2 cartridges I use one of those air gun oil filled CO2 cartridges. THIS NOT A TOY and is not suitable for youngsters, under 18, without close Adult Supervision. Careless and/or improper use of this product can result in property damage, injury or death. Because it is very realistic, in encounters with law enforcement could result in them mistaking it as a real firearm, which in some circumstances has resulted in severe injury or death. It's always a good idea to wear eye protection when shooting this type of gun. For pest control, it is only suitable for small birds and mice at 20 feet or less. IMHO, it won't be humane to shoot a rat, pigeon, raccoon, rabbit, fox etc at any distance. Check with your local law enforcement for compliance with carrying this on your person, in your vehicle, shooting on private propery

The trigger pull is much easier for me to use the gun than another brand that I had owned. It loads very easy,the CO2 cartdrige is much easier to install, it feels good in my hands,and it has good accuracy at 15 feet in my basement.

Needs to have a much stronger spring on the mag release button. I bought this gun to practice drawing from a holster and firing and if you just bump the button, the mag falls out. And it’s 16 feet away. I was not impressed with the accuracy either.

Allows mount of red dot. Roughly 50 good shots per cartridge

Like the p226, the iron sights are worthless because they are off and not adjustable. Using the red dot solves centering issues

Not powerful enough for backyard pests. I shot my hand point blank range with fresh canister and didn’t even break the skin. Plinking/practice only

The gun works very well, great blowback, everything works well, and I do wish more c02, but that's what you get with a blowback pistol.

C02 removal. A real pain, I had to call Sig customer support, and they said the get it out, use a small screwdriver. That didn't work, so I used a small tool with a curved end.

To remove the cartridge if it is stuck, flip the gun upside down, grab the release button, and pull very quickly. Sometimes it will pop out, and if it doesn't use the tool. And if it can't grab try again. It takes some practice. But overall, nice gun.

good weight for training ,recoil is somewhat realistic and it shoots well. The red dot installed easily and works great.

trigger could be better , pull is to long but reset is good.

I REALLY LIKE THE GUN, BUT THE MAG RELEASE IS A BIT TOO TOUCHY. . ALSO, I WISH THE CO2 CARTRIDGE COULD BE REMOVED W/O LOSING THE REMAINING CO2. . IT'S SAID NOT TO LEAVE A CARTRIDGE IN THE GUN OR IT'LL DAMAGE THE SEAL, BUT, IF YOU DON'T USE THE CHARGE UP, YOU DON'T HAVE AN ALTERNATIVE BUT TO LEAVE IT SEALED OR UNSEAL IT AND LOSE THE REMAINING CHARGE! A CURRENT DILEMMA. . OTHERWISE, GREAT GUN!

All metal, accurate, Easy CO2 loading, trigger feel in SA is amazingly close to the real firearm. Typical Sig quality !! Nearly 80 powerful shots per CO2 cartridge!!

Mags would be better if metal, work fine as long as you are gentle when inserting pellets, suggest thumb and forefinger to pinch them in without pushing.

I also have SIG 1911 Spartan BB pistol, and Walter CP88, this is right up there with them as far as quality (all from Pyramyd). Happy Pyramid customer for over 10 years! Great products and customer service!
