Description

The Springfield Armory M1A has a storied history in the firearms world, and has become one of the most well known and well respected rifles on the market today.  Praised for its accuracy and rugged reliability, the M1A is the civilian version of the battlefield legend, the M14. The M14 was adopted by the U.S. Military in 1959 and remains in limited service to this day!  Shooters rejoiced when Springfield Armory began producing the civilian version, the M1A, in 1974. The rifle quickly gained a following thanks to competition success at the National Matches at Camp Perry.

Under the Springfield Armory license, Air Venturi introduces the M1A underlever.  Keeping accuracy in mind, the M1A is a faithful fixed barreled replica of the legendary firearm. A beautiful wood stock provides the heft and solid feel that real steel M1A owners will love. Weighing in at a hefty 9.9 lbs, the M1A Underlever is almost identical in weight to the National Match version of the firearm.

A true to form, windage and elevation adjustable rear sight peep sits at the back of the action, and lines up perfectly with the fixed front blade to help you place your shots on target. For those interested in scoping this rifle, there are threaded holes on the left hand side of the action that will accept a traditional M1A/M14 mount.

A 35 lbs cocking effort is made easier with the use of an extendable cocking lever, that can be quickly deployed before cocking to gain leverage. Thankfully, this extension doesn't dampen the authentic look of the rifle, as it is hidden within the existing cocking lever. We know you're wondering where you load your pellets, and that is another hidden feature of the M1A. During the cocking cycle, the upper hand guard actually slides forward, exposing a generous loading area and the end of the barrel to load you pellet into.

Those familiar with the M1A firearm will notice another unique and handy feature of the M1A underlever. The location of the release for the anti-bear trap safety mechanism is the bolt catch/release on the left hand side of the action! When you're loaded and ready to close the cocking lever, depress this tab and you'll be able to return the cocking lever home and take aim.

Whether you're a fan of the Springfield Armory M1A or just love realistic replica airguns, the M1A underlever blends realism and utility into an airgun deserving of the legendary Springfield Armory name!

The cocking operation does not work most of the time

Have it work according to the manual.

I have had two and they both gave me cocking problems

The gun is beautiful. Stunning when you first lay eyes on the real deal. It is heavy, but it handles well. The underlever, with the extension, is easy enough to cock once you get a feel for it. I purchased the .22 model and it does hit hard. Shooting at my basement indoor "range" at 20 feet and it seems quite accurate, only held back by the shooter. I know people mention the plastic sights and such, but it seems hearty enough, unless the gun fell, I suppose. I have no plans to put a scope on this, it feels natural with open sights and the sights are very pleasing to use. The trigger is 2-stage and it's steady. Decent. Honestly, it's a lot of gun for $199.

Not much. This gun isn't for everyone. It's not convenient to scope and modding is very limited, but it's a serious shooter right out of the box. And it feels serious in your hands and when you pull the trigger.

If you're on the fence about this or have been considering....go for it.

Great price. Fast delivery . Great product. I love that it a replica of the M1a .. wood stock. Very pleased. Recommend Pyramydair to anyone. THANKS

The only thing I would change is to add a tin of pellets when purchasing a airgun. People get excited to receive a new airgun and find out they have to order a tin of pellets to use there new airgun.

Check gun screws to make sure there tight and secure.

The weight and the overall appearance. I cut down a real M-14 magazine and used a wood anchor and machine screw to fix the magazine to the stock. Stained the stock twice to make it darker, like the one I used on active duty. Grand kids loved shooting it.

Put a Faux bayonet lug on it

Really like the hefty weight and feel of this pellet rifle, very realistic compared to my scout squad M1A

I would like to be able to put a dummy magazine in it for wall hanging purposes.

Never dry fire it...!!! Doing so made mine unusable. It won't lock or reset something when you pull the cocking lever down and therefore it won't shoot. Brand new..dry fired 5 times I still love it

You never dry fire any spring or gas piston airgun.... or any pcp or co2 that's not pressurized for that matter

Solid feel, great open sights, Powerful Spring gun. Perfect pinker you get what you pay for.

Trigger is a bit tight needs adjustable trigger. Shooting from a rest is suggested this is a heavy rifle.

Realistic look and feel just like the M1A or Garand rifles I own, this is a solid weapon. I purchased the .22 considering the .177 just because. You will not win Olympic Gold with this, but you will get a great day of plinking.

decent power, good accuracy, love the looks, I like the open sights out of 12 rifles I have this is the only one I don't have a scope on, and I'll probably leave it that way.

A Dummy Magazine to look more realistic

great gun

Christopher Wright Jul 04, 2025

Joe is thinking of the M1 Garand, which had an internal 8-round magazine top-loaded with stripper clips. The M14 was (to some degree) a derivative of the M1 with select fire capability, a smaller round (7.62x51 vs. .30-06) and a detachable box magazine. The Springfield M1A is a semi-automatic version of the M14, so it does have the detachable magazine that extends below the receiver. Since the M14/M1A have a smaller/lighter stock and numerous other visually-distinctive elements, leaving it without an external magazine does not make it look like an M1 Garand.

If you look at all the world war 2 movies or the combat TV series..there is no magazine on the m1...

Should have been a repeater.

an excellent repro of the m14/m1a both of which i have used for extended time periods.

the peep hole could be a bit larger. i'll just drill it out.

Grizz Nov 11, 2025

Not a replica of the m14. It's a garand replica

Look and feel of the military rifle carried into battle. Great work on the fit and finish of the wood stock. Peep sight worked better than expected

Fake magazine for storage of items would be cool. Pellet loading a bit difficult, dropping pellet while loading not fun.
