Easy to install. I’d read the directions before so you don’t have to disassemble like I did for missing a step. Packs away great. Solid rest when you get in the tree. Haven’t laid one down off it but hunted several times with it so far and will be a game changer next time I need a rest.

It is a straightforward installation, and I'm excited to try it next season.

Got up in it don't know if I'm going to sleep or hunt at 60. Either way I'm good I added all accessorys. cant wait till hunting season.

I've had two of these and both of them have failed on me. One the metal broke where it's attached to the stand, the other where you tighten it to keep it at the desired level. I love it when there's not something wrong with it though.

I put this gun rest on my open shot climber that I have had for 20 years and it works perfect. It is built to last.

While this product works… it needs A LOT more R&D…. It’s extremely loud and squeaky and you have to torque it with maximum effort, making it squeak even louder, for it to support the weight of your rifle. Once it’s set and torqued to the sun it functions well though.

I’ve had the Open Shot for about 18 years and it’s still going strong. I have the older non-flip up seat version. Easy to use, lightweight and easy to carry in, quiet, and comfortable considering how spartan it is. Very much suits the need I had for it.

Not had chance to shoot at anything with this yet, It does seem reasonably solid for a 200 yd shot. It is probably about a pound. It does fold out of the way for travel and does not seem to be in the way while climbing or similar activities, so I'm optimistic this will work out. You want to look at how it attaches (and adjusts) to the stand as I have some doubts the fasteners will make it past a few seasons. I've bought their saddle bags and other items that I thought were a little flimsy, but I'm still using them 15 years later. I'll be happy to be wrong. I also think these larger stands you need this, to avoid leaning too far with the bigger stand.

This will fail. I am making PVC adapters to ensure this can bear weight. It is a great idea but with poor execution. They need a more robust locking system.

After many years of reliable service and many Whitetail deer killed, my gun rest broke at the mounting bracket and tightening knob. I purchased a replacement and I am looking forward to using it for the start of gun season tomorrow. See the photo of how the rest should be mounted in relation to the stand when nested together. The gun rest drops to the outside of the platform cross bar and the nesting strap passes inside the gun rest.
