Nice heavy replacement blades great for Hunting and taxi army and all around anything I choose to use it for once the blades are dull. I just replaced them and I’m back to a clean sharp knife again I love these knives. I recommend anybody buying them once you do, you’re gonna be hooked because they’re very good quality of knife.

I purchased this for the purposes of learning how to sharpen cheap steel. Instead I found the 420J far better than it had any right to be, easy to sharpen, holds an edge reasonably well, and is replaceable if I ever damage a blade so badly it can't be used anymore. The Tri-ad lock on the blade deploys one handed if flicked with authority and positively locks into place. It's replaced my Buck for everyday use and I even find myself reaching for it when I have a higher quality knife around. These are blades designed for use and abuse and sharpen well using a honing stick alone; despite grit and adhesives I still haven't managed to damage a blade enough to use a sharpening stone. This is a great knife to learn basic maintenance on. FWIW: I have dropped, stepped on, thrown this knife around and have seen very little wear on the Griv-Ex handle. I'd definitely be interested in buying a better feeling material, though.

Nice blade.. very well-made it is a little tricky to swap out the blades so you need to play with it. Blades are thick and sturdy. well worth the money.

I think everyone who calls themselves a knife guy should have the filder and the fixed blade. Also, the blades are NOT skinny, useless razor blades. These are substantial, thick, normal blades. So dont be put off by them having replacement blades. The way i do it, is to use the knife and sharpen or correct the blade on the stone as long as there is no deformation. If the blade is too damaged, thats when it is time to grab a replacement m! I webt ahead and bought 9 blades in addition to what comes with the initial purchase. Suggest everyone do this while supplies last. The price for these knives is actually too low, so if you want this orice, bow is the time to act. Cold Steel WILL rais3 the price on this setup. Mark my words! Fantastic knife! Absolutely recommend!
