Cold Steel FGX Balisong Tanto

I bought mine a couple of months ago and have been testing it out ever since. I collect traditional balisongs, and this one is visibly larger than the original, but significantly lighter. I was honestly aiming for the double-edged gnarly version, but this will do. the lockup is great, no play and no damages to the blade. I've never tested this hard enough, but just pierced some carboard and paper with it. The infamous tanto tip from Cold Steel gives this justice. Though I haven't tried this myself, you could in theory create a serrated version of this by running a file through the cutting edge. In any case, this is a very good thing to have and it's totally worth it to have. If your balisong seems to be not smooth, use some dry lube on the hinges. I use pencil lead and it works.

works surprisingly well. i really prefer single edged balisong too. wondered before trying it if i'd have to spray silicone on the load bearing pins. works flawlessly without it. still may try using lem's food grade silicone spray on the pins.

Very bulky and light, not the best training tool as it does not mimic a real butterfly knife well.
