Cold Steel Competition Thrower Hatchet

Bought it for league throwing and it the handle base cracked within a few minutes. Taped/wrapped it to keep the crack from worsening. By the end of the night the handle nearly snapped right under the base (the crack never made it that far up). Axe head is solid, sharp and well formed and weighted. Handle is garbage. Cold steel doesn’t even offer replacement handles for the competition thrower for sale anymore, had to buy a third party handle to rehang it

Everything is tight and right. I adapted it slightly for IATF throwing, and so far so good.

The weight of it feels like the right amount of resistance for me to learn technique. And with it being flat, it encouraged me to get that nice tipped in 45 degree angle. I've definitely gotten better over time with it.

Good balance, well made, sturdy. Great value. If you’re new to axe throwing, this is a great way to get started. For more experienced throwers this is a great product with good balance. Still my favorite thrower.

I wish I bought this throwing axe sooner. Perfect for beginners to try without being too heavy. Not very sharp because it doesn't need to be. Sticks perfectly as is on end grain target.

I personally use this axe for competitive hatchet throwing as it is very durable and throw’s great. Meets specifications for WATL regulations.
