SOG Flare, Black, Right, Spring Assisted

I bought this at a good price at a military exchange. It’s a solid working knife — hard to do better at this price point. Sharp, good lockup, and a safety to lock the assisted opening if you’re concerned about opening in your pocket. But it takes some authority to push the blade past the assisted start detent so I don’t worry about this. Highly recommended for a basic working EDC.

Great edc, inexpensive, easy to maintain, stays sharp

I always carry one of these and have done so for about a decade. The knife is lightweight, extremely sharp, and holds a razor-sharp edge for a long time despite everyday use. It is easy to draw and very quick to flip open. The grip texture is just right. It feels great in the hand open or closed. The pivot that holds the blade to the handle is rock solid and never gets loose or wiggles. I never need to replace my SOGs, and the only reason I buy new ones is to have them in more vehicles, locations, and gear bags. And the price is excellent. Why buy a big expensive knife when, for the same price, you can have more knives of better quality in multiple locations?

I bought this knife over a year ago and I'm glad that I did. I had bought it to replace a knife that was gifted to me but my stepdad. HE gave me his original first generation SOG blade.

Overall, for somebody just looking for a daily use knife, you can’t go wrong with the sog flare

I got the SOG flare on a trade. I had always herd they was decent knives but I never had any experience with one until this one and it quickly became my EDC. I love this knife, I use it at work every day. i also use it at home fishing and camping. It is a very durable handy little knife. I like the good and tight lock up it has and the release is in a very convenient spot on the handle my thumb goes straight to it. and I love the safety I think it is my favorite feature. I have had assist knives open in my pocket but i have never felt like i had to worry about it with the SOG flare

Overall good knife. Only thing I don’t like is the clip with how hard it is to unclip it off of your pants or belt.

It’s a low grade knife I love Sog but this knife is rough.

Nice design, a lot of thought into the product. Sharpe right out of the box.

I bought this knife about three months ago as a backup to my main EDC, but ended up using it as my main, my only complaint is the steel could be better.
