really well made...only caveat is the whip rattles a little bit within the cane body...
Perfect mid-tier self-defense-- in my region you can encounter loose dogs, poisonous snakes, and other threats for which a sword cane would be a bit extreme. This cable is perfect for non-lethal yet quiet self-defense.
Had one, gave it away to someone who needed a cane. I stopped the Rattling the problem though. How ? Flex Seal Spray on the cable whip. Made it more stuff like a shamook(sp) whip. Stopped the Rattling sound.
I bought mine at the ATL Blade Show, and am very favorably impressed with its high quality. As soon as my sister saw and admired mine, I ordered one for her.
I am interested in getting this but want a different top I prefer the city stick type topper.

A good self defense tool as only Cold Steel would do. Not sure if I am going to purchase one, but I agree with one of the reviewers. Develop a hiking/walking staff for the Sjambok as well. Thank you.
Being in a state that makes cane swords a crime, this is an excellent substitution. The cane is rugged and strong, comfortable in the hand, and can be a weapon on its own. The cable whip inside seems capable of limb removal. (I have not tried this yet and hope to never need to)

Very sturdy and easy to grasp. The handle secured tightly and requires a strong pull to separate to get the whip out. My only complaint was when I went to remove the cane tip to replace it with a wider base, since I actually use the cane as a cane for mobility from time to time. The tip has the rubber insert, to quiet down the whip, glued to the tip.
