Cold Steel Recon Scout (CPM 3V)

Carried an older one made of O-1 Tool Steel for 20+ years in the Navy through multiple deployments all over the world. Still IMHO, the finest combat knife on earth. Picked up a newer one made of CPM-3V and it's even better as it's tremendously corrosion resistant and every bit as strong and sharp as my old Scout made of O-1 Tool Steel.

Very good edge and stays sharp. Good fit and finish. Great handle with hands wet or bloody. Very nice sheath

Well made, great balance, heavy spine and comes extremely sharp. Good for bush craft, great for self defense.

Holds an edge very well. Fits comfortably in the hand even for extended use. Very good balance.

A must have knife that will serve more purposes than you think. Its an awesome tool terrific toy beautiful side peace & loyal best friend. Rock it with your daily gear &/or post up with your collection either way you wont regret it. Treat yourself‼️

My first knife of this kind was the "Trailmaster" in Carbon V steel, an exceptional knife that I still have after years of use, a "masterpiece"! I recently purchased the 3V reconnaissance Scout, which is smaller but just as high performing. I only used it once and it gave me an excellent impression. I cut branches to make a fire and simulated having to make a small shelter. The use was not particularly demanding but the knife did its job very well. Praise to Cold Steel for this excellent knife. P.S. The cost is certainly advantageous compared to other brands.

Bought this knife 4yrs ago in the then offered O1 tool steel at a bargain price and it has cut through old barbwire fencincing embedded in old saplings, trees of different sorts and the blade edge has not once chipped or rolled. Truly a superior product from Cold Steel

The toughest knife I’ve ever had! I’ve cut nails,steel cable so many other things that destroy lesser knives with never as much as a nick in the blade. One fine knife!

I have the carbon v blade, there is simply no better knife from it, even though I have tried a lot.

3v is a great steel and this is no doubt a great combination. The knife worked perfectly for camp chores and wasn't too heavy to carry in on my pack. My recommendation would be to offer this in an Aus8 or SK5 steel for a budget option.
